This movie has been the surprise hit of the summer! It claims to be a movie about love but is not a love story. I saw it and enjoyed it. The movie's worldview is basically everything happens by coincidence. Do you agree or disagree? In any case I thought it was a cute romantical comedy film.

I saw "(500) Days of Summer" on the plane to LA. I described it as a Not-in-Love movie about feeling bad. The only reason it is a hit with so many people is that is is leagues better than any RomCom movie made in the last ten years. But that's not saying it's a great film. It's better than the usual drivel. I've heard several people compare it to "Annie Hall." That's doing a huge disservice to "Annie Hall."

I really liked it - on it's own merit, not by comparison to any other movies. I thought it was a clever and well thought out and acted idea. I also thought Zooey Deschanel was terrific.

I saw it on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. I expected just a chick flick, but it turned out to be rather smart, post modern, and from the guy's point of view.

Saw it last night. Liked it, thought it was funny and definitely more intelligent than your usual rom-com.

I saw this last night and absolutely hated it. And I do like romantic comedies...well, romantic comedies that don't star Kate Hudson or Sarah Jessica Parker. What a terrible film. The only redeeming factor was the way it was edited. Zooey Deschanel played one of the most unlikeable characters I have seen on film. It doesn't help that the filmmaker tried way too hard to cater to the Juno/Garden State crowd. She was a liar, who used and abused Joseph Gordon-Levitt. And we're supposed to feel empathy for her at the end because it wasn't "meant to be?" Give me a break. The ending was the biggest rip-off of John Hughes. It was almost exactly the same as the ending of Pretty in Pink where Duckie sees the girl, then looks in the camera and goes to meet her. Autumn? Really? That is so lame. As I said earlier, the filmmaker tried way too hard to cater to the indie crowd. With The Smiths, Belle & Sebastian, and Joseph wearing Joy Division and The Clash shirts. Not to mention the Hall & Oates dance sequence, which is strictly catered to stoners who have discovered soft rock. I am extremely happy that this isn't receiving the attention that Juno and Garden State received. It's bad enough those two movies were considered good. I want my hour and a half back. And I never want to see Zooey Deschanel again after playing such an unlikeable character. She really did use him, lying to him constantly. There is no forgiveness for her.

I saw it mostly because Zooey is just gorgeous. Good movie.
