AM Radio has long been Southern Gospel music's best friend. I'd like to encourage all lovers of SG music to support AM Radio. Long before satellite or web radio, AM broadcasters were the only ones who would format SG, and many still do. Thank them. Pray for them. Support them in any way you can. AM Radio is alive and well and has been described as the backbone of America. It is AM Radio that keeps us informed in rural America. It is AM Radio that welcomes the local church to air it's Sunday service and makes room for broadcasts like Thru The Bible and The Gospel Greats. Try AM out if you haven't in a while. Don't use the scan feature on the car radio since it will only stop on the strongest of signals. Use the tuner and I think you will be pleased at what you will find. If you left AM for the higher quality of FM you might be surprised to find that many AM stations now sound just as good as FM and with new technology more and more AM stations sound great, but Christians often want to listen for the content, not the audio quality. I have often dealt with weak signals and a little noise to hear something honoring and pleasing to our Lord that was on AM or Short Wave.
