About a week ago I tried to upload a avatar and it said I successfully uploaded my picture. I checked the next day and saw that my avatar was a red "X" and I somehow lost 600 of my posts. I tried again and again it uploaded successfully with only a red "X" being the result, but didn't lose any posts. I then tried to use one of the sites avatars and again I only have a red "X".
I have uploaded two pictures successfully in the past so this isn't my first time doing it.
Any ideas about what's going wrong?

Still confused at why I went from 800 posts to 200 but oh well at least I got my avatar to work.
if you were around a year ago and posted that many posts yesterday a year ago then it went down because the old threads get purged every night, and thus those posts disappear from the system. Although I would say that losing 600 posts in one day is quite a lot...lol. Either there is a glitch somewhere, or you posted a TON on that day last year!!!

If one posts a lot in one thread that is deleted, then of course all posts are gone, so it's not just one days worth of posts. I imagine I will lose a bunch when some of the PFY threads are deleted after not having been posted in for a year.

oh yeah...that's true....never thought of it that way (my brain is a little dim these days...things don't connect as easily as they once did...and as they hopefully someday soon will again...lol)
