Anyone here do calligraphy? I just took a class and was curious about the different kids of calligraphy. I have looked and looked online but I cannot find anything with the types of calligraphy. I really enjoyed my class but I find it tedious to "copy" another's form. Can I just make up my own? Or is that tacky?

Hi, Daisies! I've done calligraphy in the past, although I'm certainly not an expert. I think it's perfectly fine for you to make up your own calligraphy style. That's not tacky -- it's downright creative!

I've learned a couple of different styles over the years -- one from a class, another from a do-it-yourself kit. But I think there are many variations out there, so it's certainly OK to add another one.
