I love Chinese, but I've never had much success making it. Does anyone have great recipes? I'd love to have a recipe for Thai Dynamite like Pei Wei (Asian Resturant) makes. Post away :-).

If you buy frozen stir-fry vegetables, often there will be a basic stir-fry recipe on the package. I've tried those and they're easy and pretty good. Other than that, I usually buy Chinese food at Chinese restaurants rather than make my own.

Chinese food is one meal I will not attempt again to cook. It's a lot yummier when someone else cooks them

I don't attempt to make it either since it is ready so quick when you order.

However we do have a pei wei that just opened and I may have try what you ordered. PF Changs is good but it's a 30 minute drive (owned by same company)

I have a great recipe for Peking Pork (at my local restaurant, they call it Cantonese pork)

I will try to remember to post it later.

I also have a recipe for baked egg rolls...not quite the same as the real thing, but still pretty good.

I never heard Pei Wei but since Miss Giggles is almost a neighbor , I checked the website and found out that there's quite a few here. Are they pricey? I want to check it out.

They are supposed to be priced lower than PF Changs. The prices look typical for a chinese restaurant

http://www.peiwei.com/images/menu/menua.pdf

set apart try the copycat websites and recipes.. I am sure there are a few pf changs recipes if you look hard enough

I do better with Japanese food than Chinese. I have a Fillipino friend who makes some really good dishes along with some Thai food that's a little spicier.

The key for the rice is to make it ahead of time and let it cool in the fridge in one big clump before stir frying it.

We eat a lot of pancit which is more Fillipino but yummy, too - just stir fry some veggies and chicken - add an egg while stiring and then pour it all over some rice noodles. Add just a little sesame oil and soy sauce -not much though and toss it all together. Very quick and easy.

I've made egg rolls once and they were ugly but tasted good . I prolly won't do that again.

You can find some really easy recipes by doing a search online - check out several different sites for variety.

There are chain Chinese restaurants????? I've never heard of them before! Around here all the Chinese restaurants are individually owned and operated. I have 3 within walking distance of my home, so which one I go to depends on what I want to eat.

I'm sooo jealous...ok, what is the rolled up meat, kinda like a spring roll but it's all meat - our friend makes them all the time and they are sooooo yummy!

I love all types of oriental food: Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Philippino. In fact, oriental cuisine is my favourite.

However, I still sadly have never tasted: Korean and Thai food.

It's called lumpia. My Mom makes tons of them and we freeze them and just fry them.

You have to try Pad Tai ...they are so yummy and try the Thai Ice tea also. There's not a lot of Thai restaurants here and I really miss them.

Sweet & Sour Pork- I've made this recipe since high school. I only add half the vinegar when making the sauce, though. It's too sour for my taste.

I like to marinate chicken in this chili sauce and serve with "chinese" sides. That may be a pepper and onion stirfry, brown rice, pea pods, sugar snap peas, grilled zuchini (marinated in the same sauce,) whole grain soba noodles, grilled pineapple, etc.

Chinese food is actually one of the easiest genres to make. Ingredients are easily found - most all stores have an "Asian" aisle, now. Egg roll - or spring roll - wrappers are usually found in the produce section. So much better than the sodium and fat laden stuff you get at the average take out place.

I don't have any particular recipes, I tend to cook a lot more Thai/Indian style, but I'd say just think of something, and give it a try.

Stir fry is the easiest. Use a good rice, chop up some fresh vegetables and toss together with some soy sauce or tamari. Add in whatever meat and vegetables you want.

Saute some cabbage, onions, carrots and minced shrimp, wrap into a roll, fry, voila.

I'd also visit any Asian grocery stores you have around. There'll be lots of inspiration in there.

Egg drop soup is really easy, once you get your stock boiling, you just swirl in some egg white. It cooks instantly. Add some scallions, tofu, broccoli, etc.
