The first two Resurrection Band records, "Awaiting Your Reply" and "Rainbow's End", would be a good place to start.

Good call on the Rez stuff. I got nothing except to council patience. This is your 2nd thread on this topic today. Keep in mind that the weekend is a traditionally slow time on message boards (people are out living life, many post on boards while at work and are off on weekends) and Sunday is an especially slow day on a Christian message board (many Christians attend church on Sunday). So you're not being ignored, most people haven't seen it yet. Perhaps later tonight when people get home from church or family activities they'll check in and help out. Also: if you felt the title of your first thread wasn't descriptive enough you can edit the title. I'm not trying to be critical (as you didn't do anything "wrong") but on many message boards people will come down on you if you post multiple threads asking the same question. I didn't want you to have an unpleasant experience on another forum. This isn't one of those forums that'll get on you because we're mostly Christians here and we try not to sweat the small stuff. I suspect the mods here will delete the other one (combining if necessary) to keep the boards all neat and tidy with a "Since there is another thread on this topic this thread will be closed". They do like to keep things organized around here, makes for a better forum experience. Note: My church doesn't have a nightime service and I'm kind of a homebody, hence I'm at home. But I'm not the norm. I do have one tentative suggestion: Mylon Lefevre & Broken Heart. Another possibility is the 77's, especially the "All Fall Down" album. The self titled as well but "All Fall Down" really had that 60s rock feel through the eyes of 80s alternative. Keep in mind that just about anything we suggest will be hard to find if you want to get it on CD as unlike most secular music Christian music doesn't get reissued on CD en masse. (vinyl of course will be exponentially more difficult but thats true with all vinyl).

On the lighter side; Christian oldies do not rock. They folk. Or they hymn. I kind of gave up on "Christian " music as far as a musical experience goes. Too African I suppose. This is where I could agree with Rev. Wright-----White, European music and African. But this is where the rhythm and blues came from and hence even the likes of Sandi Patii. I like jazz and the like myself and there are several Christian artist in other forms of music than the "traditional" forms of Christian. So much for the lighter side!

Good suggestions. Nobody has mentioned early Petra yet. Yeah. I really love Petra stuff though more of the recent stuff especially the Jekyll and Hyde album(2004). I wonder why Petra was left to die and forgotten when they are really a phenomenon musically. I'm finding it real hard to find bands that rocks as much as Petra does. May be some day.

Thanks Rufas! BTW, while I wasn't much of a big fan of Petra's first album, it did catch the rock style of that time. Backsliding Blues is quite good, but my personal favorite was Lucas McGraw instead.

Backsliding Blues is quite good, but my personal favorite was Lucas McGraw instead. Back then they were called the Allman brothers of christian rock, and for good reason. The dual guitar sound, the jazz/swing in some of the songs (I'm not ashamed) and of course Back Sliding Blues. But McGraw was really good too. I wonder who did that mandolin solo?
