If you participate in co-ops, what subjects specifically do/have you covered for the elementary grades? Any and all co-op information and ideas are appreciated! Thank you.

Our co-op was for fun classes. Classes I taught/co-taught were human body, Ohio Wildlife, and Crime Scene Investigation. Other classes the kids took were Spanish (colors, numbers, songs--nothing serious), Read/Write/Draw, and I'm drawing a blank!
We also had Open Gym after classes for kids to run around and play informal games.

The classes at the co-op we have attended depends on what the parents want to teach. The classes are broken down by age. We have things like learning letters, music, art and videos for the preschoolers. The elementary kids have choices like sign language, art (general and specific things like scuplture), music, botany, science experiments, books clubs, writting, and gym. The older kids have done classes like Shakespear, ethics, media and advertising, cooking, drama, writting, sign language, greek, japanese, music, gym, Bible studies, computers(programing or putting together), chess, and even Apologia science labs.

ddsisson--I got a book from Carolina Biological. Actually a couple of 'em. All my books are packed up right now as hubby is putting in a built in book case. One is a history of crime scene investigation. I'd start each lesson with a bit of history (finger prints, transfer, bullets, etc), intesting cases where that evidence was used. The other book had experiments. Some of them were too advanced for my guys, so I would alter them. Then we would do an experiment. Some were ink, handwriting, footprints, and lipstick. We also had a police dog come in. Hubby also came in and talked about guns, bullets, etc. It really was a fun class!

We've belonged to 3 types of co-op over the years...
A) Several families that use the same curriculum getting together every other week for games, meals, hands-on projects, etc to go with what we were doing at home. (Konos)
B) Once a week where parents decided what they wanted to offer and then classes offered were determined by the number of sign-ups. Art, Drawing, Logic, Spanish, Ballet, Board Games, Chemistry, Literature, Human Body, Backyard Ballistics, Survival Skills are the ones I remember.
C) Twice a week Math & Science co-op that also includes many electives as well as other core subjects. All Jr. & Sr.. High math is Saxon and Science is Apologia. All typical school subjects are offered, language arts, science, math, social studies, art, PE, drama, foreign language and many various electives from quilling to dance to animated art.

I go to a co-op that has 150 home school families. It is Lighthouse Gang in Springfield Missouri.
The official website is lighthousegang.org you can check the classes offered on the website.
Note: I would suggest that every home school family join a co-op. It helps the whole family!!!

I used to live in Springfield, MO.  I wasn't in a co-op, then, though. My husband was a full time student at CBC and between work and school I didn't have time to co-op. I wish I could have, though.

Next year, for elementary grades, our co-op will offer:
(For K-2nd Gr) Aesop's Fables, Animal Adventures, Art, Ballet, Beginners Phonics, Beginners Numbers, Draw Write Now, Explorations in Literature, Galloping the Globe, P.E., The Writing Road to Reading (For 3rd-4th gr) Adventures in Writing, Piano, Guitar, Sign Language, Spanish, American Unit Study, Presidents, Science, and Using Art to Make Art.
There are also classes for 5th on up but since you specifically asked about elementary, I just posted those above.
