I think that it is good to take 24 hours (roughly) consequtively, or 1 day, to rest sacrificially. Like any matter regarding the law, I don't do it to attain salvation... but to live a better more fruitful life now, here on Earth. I guess for the most part I take Sunday's off, where I purpose not to work. I purpose not to try and make money, or do anything that I don't find truly restful. Sometimes, however, like this weekend... I found myself spending 3-4 hours working on the house, and honestly not something I would consider rest. How do you feel about honoring the Sabbath, and keeping it holy? What does it mean, and what does it look like for you? Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath, and yes, we have rest in Him... but we are also to observe the law. Not because it gives us salvation... but because it is ultimately good for us if we want to be fruitful and if we want to live "holy" seperated lives for God I think.

A lot of times, I'm working auctions (Sunday is a prime day for sales), so I don't always get a lot of them off. Otherwise, it depends on three things: 1) Who's playing? 2) What's in the fridge? 3) How active is my son?

I look at the Sabbath rest as the person of Jesus Christ rather than a day. Paul admonishes us: Colossians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. Christ is our rest. The Sabbath was an Old Covenant Day. Hebrews 4:9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his.11 ¶ Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience. Hebrews shows the superiority of Christ in all of God's dealing with man. He is superior to the Old Covenant Law. Yet we are encouraged to meet with other believers: Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another— and all the more as you see the Day approaching. If we are resting in Him and allowing Him to renew our minds we are worshiping Him 24/7. Roman 12:1 ¶ Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God— this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is— his good, pleasing and perfect will. Personally we like to take it easy on Sundays. Dennis quote:
