If money were no object, what would you do? Where would you go?

This is a thread strictly for fun ... let your imagination fly!!

LOL Rosie ... I suppose you could be going on a solo vacation with an eye to finding someone in a certain locale.

I would love to fly to Butchart Gardens and spend the day wandering around there.

Sam, This is a place that we did see last year.. So I suppose you could call that a fantasy fulfilled.

Now my fantasy date would be a trip to England.

Actually - a fantasy date of mine would be to get sushi from the grocery store and go sit on a hillside somewhere, looking out over nature and/or the city. I don't know why :) But I've always thought that would be a little slice of heaven :)

So I guess a picnic is basically my fantasy date. Just not at a crowded place, or with a table and all that convenience.

I would tell my date to get plenty of rest the day before because it's going to be a long day.

Very early in the morning we'd board my jet for a jaunt to Ireland. Spend the first part of the day shopping in some small stores out in the countryside, (sweaters and such). Then bounce over to Venice for a gondola ride followed by a good healthy Italian dinner.

Sleep on the plane for the ride home. Then spend a leisurely day playing on the boat followed by a cruise under the stars.

OK So it's a two day date. But it would be a blast!

Money no object?

Well, I would want to fly out to Colorado, and go to a dude ranch and horseback riding through the mountains, stopping for lunch at a beautiful spot to enjoy the scenery together.

Spend the whole day just riding and exploring, and then come back to the ranch and spend the evening sitting around the camp fire and just talking about everything. And making smores and snuggling by the fire... Yeah, that's my dream date...well, one of them...

a fantasy date for me would be to spend a day/evening with a gentleman who would hold my hand and kiss me on the forehead afterward...anywhere in the world would suit me fine (so long as I could wear a schfancy dress).

...ok, ok, ok - a bit of a cop out? well it's truly what i'd desire. but i shall have to dream up something big and get back to ya on this one a_foreigner!

A fantasy date would be a day on THIS beach. A full day of lounging in the sun, splashing around in the water, swimming with the dolphins (do they have dolphins here?), and hiding away from the rest of civilization. If it's a week-long trip, we'll spend some time on the mainland discovering the local restaurants, eating real Thai food, and mixing with the people who live there. But mostly, we would get away from the hustle-bustle of real life and slow down for a bit, getting to know each other better. (of course, a trip like this is best suited for a honeymoon, but it really is the ultimate fantasy date).

I'd love to go to the Italian lakes. I've been to Lake Garda before but a different resort/lake would be great.

Actually they're all in the former Yugoslavia countries I so desperately want to visit....it's not necessarily soccer, but I was introduced to them because of soccer. Does that make sense?

Now, if it's soccer you want me to do for a fantasy date......hmmmm......oh, I know exactly what that one would be, but it can't happen any longer, so I won't even go there.

My fantasy date would have to start my ideal man for it to be the ultimate romantic fantasy date.

I think for now, my fantasy date would be in Whistler, Canada and hiking the High Note Trail (12-15 km). this and ths . Whistler is one of the best ski resort in North America but it turns into hiking heaven during the summer. This is probably the most beautiful trail I've ever hiked, and probably the most difficult. In some parts of the trail, you literally have to stop every 5 minutes, either because you've reached your max heart rate and you're dying, lol, or you're blown away by the view. It's called the High Note trail because the trail feels like you're hiking through music....some high notes, some low notes, but altogether very beautiful. I didn't hike part of the trail because it was just way too much for my daughter. We did 12 km then hit the Round House for a bite to eat. The restaurant is at the top of the mountain where you can sit on the balcony and enjoy a nice drink while taking in the view.

Anyway, After the hike, we'd take a nice 15 minute gondola ride down to explore this Swiss like village where we can just window shop (everything is super expensive) or sit at some cafe, watch a movie or go bear watching (they're like dogs over there, lol).

Hiking in Colorado would be my next best choice for an ideal date.

My fantasy date would take place over a weekend with my husband. I want it to be with him so that there would be no awkwardness that often accompanies dates. We'd fly to Sao Paulo on Friday night and check in at a beach house. On Saturday, we'd spend time investigating the city and trying new restaurants, and probably seeing a play or an opera. We'd return to the beach house, then watch the sunset together we rest in each others arms. We'd watch the sunrise (if he wanted to), then spend time worshipping together - or perhaps with other believers. Then, we'd take a short road trip through the country side, driving and taking pictures, listening to music, and enjoying one another. Late Sunday afternoon, we'd laze about on the beach a bit more, have a beautiful dinner under the stars, and prepare to head home the next day.

That's kind of an over-the-top fantasy (that is more like a mini-vacay).

But, a more reasonable fantasy date is:

Spending time with a man that I enjoy (and who enjoys my company as well). We'd go out to dinner, see a play or a concert, then spend the rest of the evening talking about it, walking on the beach, holding hands and looking at the stars. And if he were musical, maybe we could sing or play together :) (Now THATS a fantasy!!!!)

Gary, that place is gorgeous!!! Great place for a date!

I've always wanted to dance ala The Sound of Music (Liesel and Rolf - "I Am Sixteen Going on Seventeen") in the little round spot that has columns... in the Delta room at Opryland Hotel. (Recently, every time I've been there, just with friends... the space has been reserved for a wedding.)

Big fantasy date.... Taj Mahal. Or this castle in Germany.

Well, I guess if my fantasy date were more like a honeymoon ... with travel and overnight stays and all ...

Trekking to Machu Picchu
Carlsbad
New Zealand
Ireland
Israel
Morroco
India

I could keep going ... but this is the top of the list :) I think I'm leaving something important off, but I don't recall what it was.

Actually - the more I think about it, these trips would be better as vacations after the honeymoon. I'd like to honeymoon somewhere naturally beautiful, but without too many distractions.

Losgan, speaking of honeymoons...I have a couple of places I would LOVE to go on mine!

I would either like to go here-Elk Ranch Mountain

or here- Montana White Tails

Okay, so maybe it's a little strange to want to go there for a honeymoon, but I think it would be fun! Or even going and spending all day at an amusement park one of the days would be kind of enjoyable too, I don't really think it would matter what we did though...

But, you are also talking about the young woman who thinks taking Sonic and eating it at the park would be totally romantic...what can I say...I just enjoy doing different things than most people! LOL!

I'm right there with ya - only mine was Sushi - but Sonic would be awesome too.

My brother and sister-in-law went on their honeymoon in Tennessee ... I never would have thought of that, but it was beautiful and they really liked it. Little shops and restaurants to go to, and their cabin had a hot tub on the balcony overlooking the smokey mountains.

My parents went later, and came back and said that would be a must for me someday. They did some hiking and took the most AMAZING pictures. I hate to be a copy-cat, but I'd be all over following in family's footsteps :)

I forget the name of the town ... something with a P I think. AHA - Pigeon Forge.
