I was listening on Moody radio where there was going to be a seminar about the guidelines in the bible that were set up for a man's life, but there wasn't a way of attending and i was wondering if someone could show me where those are in the bible?

I forget exactly what it was for but I think it was how a man can evaluate himself in life as to how to live..or in a relationship the standards he needs to have? Or the bible talked about the things a guy needs to have to be dateable...It was something like that, been a few weeks since I heard and I just remembered it so I wanted to ask.

Thanks!

Men are always wanting to define what God requires of us in terms of guidlines, rules or laws and in a sense they have to if they have no understanding of love. Again unfortunately even if we follow all their laws it is still possible that we simply do not love God or others but have set about building up a false sense of pride by keeping to guidlines or rules at the expense of loving God and others.

We do not follow dead and hollow rules for we are lead by love as scripture clealy states

Mic 6:8 -
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Matthew 7:12-14
12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Matthew 22:
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Now if we do not know the meaning of love then we may well just use the following; 1 Cor 13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

None of us who are in love need to be told or taught these things for they are not new to us. I guess the only thing God requires from us is our love and this is not a harsh command for what is not to love?
