OK our story is this. I am originally from GA and my dad went to work in North Dakota we where walking into this restaurant and the hair on the back of my neck stood up. When this happens at least to me something significant is about to happen. We walked in the door and walked up to the front he was working there I smiled and said HI. He smiled and that was it I just knew. We have been together for 12 years now.

I thought he died in a monsoon in Korea and when I discovered he hadn't, I realized I couldn't live without him. We met online one summer then met in person that November, and married exactly one year later. When we saw each other in person for the first time, all our feelings were confirmed. That was close to 9 years ago. Crazy!

That is such a nice story IBD. I knew my husband was the one the minute I met him and I was all that more convinced by the kind way that he treated others. He knows what is good and right and I just love that about him!

Gabe and I met in 6th grade, but I was a dork and he was a jerk, so we didn't really get along then By my senior year, we were friends, mostly because all of our friends were friends, and one night while we were talking on IMs, he asked me to be his girlfriend. I'd never been asked out before and didn't know what to say, so I said yes I should have broken up with him within the week (and he probably should have dumped me as well... it was a terrible match), but I didn't know how to do that, so I just stuck it out, hoping he'd break up with me. He treated me poorly and often told me what girls he liked better than me, who was prettier than me, etc. Finally someone told him that they didn't know why I put up with him, but he'd better start treating me better or I'd wake up and leave. He kind of changed a little after that and things got better, but still nothing phenomenal. But that summer, we went to Mexico with our church and he changed completely. I couldn't begin to tell you how different he was after that trip. I knew before the trip that I was falling in love with him, but didn't say anything because we were about to leave for separate colleges. On the last day of the mission trip, while we looked out over the city of Guanajuato, he told me he loved me Later that night, I told him I loved him too and two years later, on the same trip, in the same spot, he asked me to marry him. So I don't really know when I knew he was "the one," but I will say that he wasn't "the one" when we started dating. The guy I picked out was an insensitive, egotistical, selfish jerk. The man God had for me is a wonderful, amazing, godly husband... they just happen to be the same guy

Only I married him while he was still an insensitive, egotistical, selfish jerk. I don't think I had a moment where I knew he was the one. We married too quickly and too immaturely. Thankfully, God has redeemed the bad choices we both made and almost 10 years later, we are nowhere near the people we were then.

I never knew he was the "ONE" because I don't believe that there's just one person out there for you. (but that's another story) I had a terrible terrible relationship in College, and had been single for at least 4 years. My aunt (she's married to my uncle) said at work one day "I should set you up with my brother" and I was like "yeah, ok, whatever" And we went out a couple weeks later, and had a couple more dates, and we were engaged 4 months later. There was no magic time, I think after a bit, I just realized "Hey, I really could spend the rest of my life with this guy" He was *so* there before I was, I was so scared of men by that point. I had a hard time realizing I loved him, but once I did, we couldn't be apart!! I wasn't even looking for him, I didn't even really choose him, but we are such a good fit!! We were married one year after we got engaged. (morel of the story: don't ever turn down a blind date)

In my head, whenever I would see my future husband, I would see a man kind of kneeling on the ground with a hammer in his hand. He had big, calm, comforting hands, and he was building something on the ground. I couldn't see his face, just his back. When did I know my husband was the one? We had been dating about a year. He was in a building trades class his senior year of high school (I was a junior), and they were off campus for the last half of the day. He would come back every day to pick up his brother. He walked into school wearing his Carhartt building clothes, and honestly I kind of freaked. I didn't say anything to him, and we didn't get engaged for another two years, but I had chills as I realized that was the face of the man I had been seeing in my mind. Oh, and he has really big hands.
