Hi guys, This is kind of a spin off of a discussion in another thread, and wanted you all to weigh in. We should surround ourselves with people that are healthy for us obviously, in our friendships, and also associate with people of faith and worship regularly....but what is our perspective when you begin to see a pattern....a pattern in which the people you know, backpack with etc...have a higher moral code and sense of integrity than some of the Christians you know? This should not be. It is an embarrassment to the Body of Christ. Our unsaved friends are quite aware of the gaps also. Jesus said You will know them by their fruit. If you have an adversarial posture,or have a need to just set somebody straight, please do not contribute to this thread. It is meant for the purpse of courteous, respectful, christian discussion only. Thanks very much for reading! :)

well I personally know a lot of hurting people...1 from my career and most of those hurts come from abuse...but inside the church are some of the most hurting people I know and I am very sad to say it is because of the words and deeds of so called "christian" people...but they are not truly christian because when we are like Christ one of our number one qualities will be LOVE..

My perspective is first and foremost to pray for those people because they truly are deceiving themselves and then my other perspective is I'm glad God is the one who will sort through it all because if it were left up to me some people wouldn't be allowed in the church doors on Sunday morning until they repented for how they treat others.

If I'm being friendly with Christians who have not yet attained a level of morality, ethics and integrity that is comparable to those who are unsaved but personally committed to those things...

Well, I'd think about where the baby Christians are supposed to be getting their spiritual nourishment, and wonder why it is not happening. Then I'd generally consider their pitiable state to be a call on my life to minister to them.

So, I would begin to encourage them by sharing the joys of close companionship with the Holy Spirit in my life: How wonderful it is to be seeing myself transformed by righteousness to righteousness, and how I cultivate that in my practical life as well as my spirit.

Doesn't bother me one way or the other. Just keep quiet and keep setting an example in how I behave -- that's my M.O. and always will be.

It can be frustrating. All you can do is live the example in front of them, and refuse to be shady with them.
Many unbelievers are ethical people. Sadly, many immature Christians are not. An old high school friend and believer is in prison. Embezzled over $75,000.00 from her employer.
