Hello all, I'm looking for some ideas, thoughts, etc. There's a girl I'd like to get to know better, but I'm not quite sure how to do it. She's visited my church a few times this year, and seemed really nice. I considered going to visit her church (I know where she regularly attends), but I thought it might seem kind of stalkerish, especially since that church is about an hour and a half away from where I live. Any thoughts on how I might get to know her without seeming creepy?

I would suggest that the next time you see her, tell her you noticed she was new and had attended a few times. Ask her if she would like to go to lunch with some of your friends after church. I would feel, as a girl, more comfortable with a man asking me that than showing up at my church thats way out of the way.

I don't think it would be stalkerish to visit her church. Just go an dvisit. If she talks to you, ask her out and let her know that you thought she was interesting so you wanted to find out more about her

Just an idea I tried to put into motion recently but had to rapidly reverse out of because the person in question said 'No' before the plan could be enacted: If you've got some mutual friends, why not be really cheeky and ask said mutual friends to 'coincidentally' ask both of you round for lunch one Sunday.

I was going to suggest something similar, RJS. The only thing I would say is not to make it 'coincidental'. If you do have some mutual friends, why not ask them to ask her if she'd like to come to dinner some night at their house? And telling her the reason isn't necessarily a bad idea. I would much rather be told up front about what was going on. I would feel manipulated if it were set up as a 'just so happened' type of thing and it obviously wasn't. If I were interested, that would be a big turn off to feel manipulated. If I wasn't interested, I'd be more likely to agree to meet with all my cards on the table - depending of course on how sure I was that I wasn't interested.
