Boot cut, low-rise. I know a lot of people don't like low-rise, but when you have a torso as short as I do, any other kind of waist goes all the way up my rib cage and looks silly.

Rachel, I wore low rise pants until I got pregnant, and now they don't fit Low rise pants in general give me bad muffin top right now but I am working faithfully at getting back into them

In general, I'm a boot cut girl but my "trouser" jeans are more of a wide leg style and there is no way I could live without them.

Whatever fits.

Actually I gave up and got some altered. Even the petite jeans have been too long. I'm 4'11

Mid rise or low rise, boot cut or straight. A small flair I can do but it looks silly to have these gigantic flairs. No skinny jeans, I have muscular legs from working out. I had bought from the Gap and now I have a pair of Lucky Jeans courtesy of Costco. I now prefere the dark blue denim.

Nordstrom will alter them for free if you buy from them and they aren't on sale. I wear them everyday to work so I have get some that will last.

Ohhh, I love jeans!!! I would wear them all day, every day if I could! I like boot cut and sometimes I'll wear flare. All my jeans are really broken in, not dark(anymore!). I hate hate HATE stretch jeans though... The styles nowadays are so tight... I'm embarassed to see some of the girls my age, the jeans they wear.

I love Jeans, and rachel I wear low-rise in certain brands because I also have a small torso... I dont like jeans that cover my belly button...its just uncomfortable... I like bootcut but sometimes small flair is okay too.

But I love pj bottoms even more then jeans...

Boot cut, flare, or wide leg. I can never get into the skinny pants or the ones with really narrow legs. I have a short torso and am bigger in my hip/butt/thigh area. I wear the low rise too otherwise they're too small in the hip and too big in the waist and I get that lovely bubble in the back. I do end up with a slight muffin top with some of my jeans, but I just wear a loose shirt.

I've pretty much quit wearing pants...but the pairs I do have are all boot cut. Otherwise my big butt just looks bigger...and I've got skinny ankles LOL.
That's why I like skirts better Stacy, for some reason, I don't get nearly the muffin top with skirts that I do with pants, low rise, regular, mid...doesn't matter, I carry all my wieght in the middle, so any kind of pants give me BAD muffin top...skirts...not so much

I much prefer skirts, too, Sandy. I have always been quite thin and I got used to skirts riding low just above my hips no matter what the style, LOL. Now that I am plumping up and thickening in the middle, it always surprises me when my favorite jean skirt stays right at my waist!!

I"ve been kicking around switching to skirts but haven't ventured into my closet to try on the ones that haven't been worn in 2 years. There's a good chance that most of them don't fit anymore. I'm down on the floor with kids all day and surprisingly enough the seams in pants get uncomfortable.
Mostly what's stopping me at this point is that I HATE shaving my legs (and usually just don't), and I also can't figure out a way to make skirts and tennis shoes look ok to me.

I wear jean skirts! I love them long and short...my favourite one is a stretch one I got years ago from Zellers (the Canadian wal-mart) and it has lasted so long. It's stretch so I was able to get into it soon after I gave birth.

I also have a midlength one that I got from Winners (the Canadian t.j. maxx) that I have had for about a decade now. It looks fabulous with black knee high boots in the winter and flip flops in the summer.

When I do wear jean pants (around the house or those really cold winter days) I like skinny leg with a bit of a boot cut. I also wear low rise cut, but I make sure I have low rise underwear on as well and a long enough shirt to cover anything that may pop out!

Stacy...I am SO lazy about shaving too! LOL
Thankfully, it's winter, so I wear my skirts with knee high socks or tights...
In the summer, I just shave up to my knees, since nothing higher than that shows anyhoo.

Since I've been wearing skirts mostly...I am amazed at how much more comfy I am. Skirts rule!

See I just can't get my mind around wearing skirts (even jean skirts) with socks/knee highs and tennis shoes. That and most of mine are print and look best with sandals or nicer shoes.

I wear mostly jean skirts, and I have a plain black one and a plain kahki one. I thought it was a little odd at first too, but now I'm used to it. The knee socks don't look any different then wearing heavy, patterned tights...
Those are all calf length at least. The few I have that are knee length I don't wear in the winter, at least not this winter, I don't have the underclothes for it.
It looks just fine. I wear them with my tennis shoes, or my mary jane docs.
You'd be surprised how sporty and cute it can look
Sandy

If you get a pair of lightweight tennis shoes or slip on athletic shoes, then they look good with denim skirts.

I wear a pair of white slip on running shoes with my skirts when I need comfy shoes or am going to do a lot of walking. Like the ones here

It only really works in the summer, which is why I tend to be a lot dressier in the winter!

I prefer flare, the bigger the bell, the better. They are hard to come by in affordable stores in the misses department. The juniors jeans seem to fit me weird now. I tried on some JLo Glo jeans the other day, and the stretchiness was wayyyyy too giving. I need something to let me be shaped the way I am while holding me in a little.

I'll wear boot-cut, but flare definetely makes my butt look smaller. I've got a bubble butt too and thunder thighs, so the ankle has to be wider than my thighs.

I have an ankle length mermaid jean skirt I bought from Motherhood Maternity, and I LOOOOVE it. I just have to wear a kind of long shirt so no one can see the elastic maternity panel. I love the kind of skirts that fit at the lower thigh and then flair out at the knee and calf. I guess it would be like wearing a bell-bottom skirt.

I guess I'm just a bell bottom kind of gal. I'll be happy when the bigger bells come back in style.

Could you picture ankle socks and loafers? They look surprisingly good with softer, flowy skirts. You could also wear the less athletic looking sneakers like keds...they have so many ballet style ked types out now.

I've always thought this style was cute, but it doesn't look good on me- IMO anyway.

I LOVE mid-length skirts. All my skirts are mid-length. I mostly wear them in the spring/summer/fall with cute tees and flip flops or heels or sandals. In the winter with tall boots. But I mostly wear dress pants or jeans in the winter.
