John 9:31 (New King James Version)

31 Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.

- Help me understand this verse. Does this actually mean God does not hear my prayer, knowing that I sin? Or Am I misunderstanding this entirely?

EDIT: Also how would one interact and comprehend these passages together.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (KJV)

1 John 1:8-9 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV) .. Also What's the difference between what John is saying and getting baptized to wash away sins.

Just passing by:

John 9:31 contrasts sinners (unbelievers, the lost) with believers (those who worship AND obey Him).

You have to read the book as a whole to understand who it is written to and what John is trying to get across.

So in conclusion he wasn't saying sinners as in "every day sin, most humans do" but just sinners as in the total unbeliever?

That's the general effect, yes. Remember that we, as believers are now in Christ. So, although we still sin, before God, we stand in Christ's perfect righteousness.
