Those of you who have had childhood dreams and knew what you wanted to do when you grew up, but somehow, someway it ended up that you didn't become what or who you wanted to become:
Do you have moments as a young adult when you feel like a failure because you didn't fulfill your dreams? Moments that make you feel awful because you let your dreams slip through your hands or because somehow you weren't able to fulfill them...
I DO.

I grew up looking up to my stepfather, to me he was a MANS-MAN. I so desired to be like him. When he married my mother he entered into the Army and we got stationed at many different forts. He'd tell me stories about his life and I so desired to follow in his footsteps. During my teenage years I'd read countless military books because I was so obsessed with it. I had no other dream but to serve our country as my father did.
God put his hand down and blocked that for me. When I went in to the eye doctor to get glasses they tested me for Glaucoma. They couldn't get an accurate reading so I was sent to a specialist whom diagnosed me with Glaucoma. I was special in the sense that I was 1 in 10,000,000 people below age 20 to have it but I didn't see it that way. The ARMY told me I had to have the operations to correct it or they wouldn't accept me. Had both operations, one for each eye. After I had both I signed up and they rejected me. Dream down the hole
My biological father didn't get it until he was 45ish and the only other person to get it in my family was my great-grandmother, and that was at age 90ish.
So what do you do now? If you don't mind me asking.

I work at a Grocery store, not by choice. I have another job merchandising part time. Last four years I've avg. about 58hrs a week. I picked up the other job to pay off some bills and to hopefully get out of my current full time job. Family stabbed me in the back for easily 8grand so the second job has become my life support to pay for their failures Tried multiple ways out of my current job and God put his hand in my life again and made sure I stay there until I finish my task he's asked of me. Life is pretty hum-drum right now.
