Hubby and I saw this movie Friday night. Didn't understand AT ALL! Can anyone tell me what I watched? I understand the symbolism of the Lion, but we got absolutely NOTHING from the rest!

I got alot out of it. Caspian was almost sucked into not believing in Christ (Aslan) and aligning with the White Witch. Lucy had a personal relationship with Aslan but allowed others to tell her what to believe. Peter started a war prematurely and didn't wait on Aslan (the Lord)

Did ya see the first one? Cuz that's kind of important. I had to see it twice just to understand the beginning.

Yeah, I saw the first one, but it was quite a while ago now. Thanks, rockitd, your observations do help it all make some sense!

GVFAn, I have read all of Lewis' Narnia books, and have seen (and loved) both of the movies. The second movie, Prince Caspian, is an allegory depicting a land that has forgotten its 'supernatural' roots - Aslan (a type of Christ), and the supernatural elements (Narnian creatures). It was very much a picture of the world that Lewis was living in - and our world today. Many people in our world have 'forgotten' about God, and don't believe in the supernatural anymore. And the story of Lucy represents us - how Aslan / Jesus calls us to follow Him today, and how we must step out in faith and obedience to follow him, even if no one else does. There will always be skeptics who say, "There is no God," but we must not be deterred from doing what God is calling us to do. There are many Christian books written out there that go into depth what all of the symbolism and imagery in Lewis' works are all about, but I hope this helps! p.s. you can check out Focus on the Family's review of the film here: http://www.pluggedinonline.com/movies/movies/a0004056.cfm That will give you some more insight, also...
