If this is the wrong forum sorry. When we as Christians die, will we end up in the new heaven, new earth, or both. (like maybe free to wander back and forth.) Thanks

When we as Christians die, will we end up in the new heaven, new earth, or both. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. Revelation 22:3-5 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. Revelation describes a city that comes from heaven to earth and has a throne which is the dwelling place of God and Jesus. You could say that since we will always be with the Lord, that we will be in His service in the City on Earth. However, since Jesus is God, and God is omnipresent, we may have work that could take us anywhere. God in His kindness has given us a glimpse of what eternity looks like. Even this glimpse is difficult to comprehend. What does stand out with clarity and hope is that we will always be with our Savior.

This is actually a very complicated question. Generally I think the "new heaven and new earth" don't come about until sometime after the millennial reign of Christ when the earth is renovated by fire. In the mean time if we die we will go to be with Christ, yes. If the rapture occurs before we die we will meet christ in the air and be caught up. Just before that happens however the dead in Christ will rise first. So if you are already dead you will be raised to a glorified body and then the living ones will follow. Yes we will have a home in the New Jerusalem but not the one on earth but in heaven. It comes down out of heaven but the scripture doesn't say the city falls down and lands on earth.
