Without addressing the uh, lie...technically the article says he was raised Muslim, not that he is Muslim. My mother was raised Baptist, but is not Baptist now. I have a friend who was raised Wiccan, but is now Christian. Just saying.

This "article" claims that Malik met Obama at 24, and that Malik knew that Obama was raised as a Muslim (even though one was in Indonesia and Hawaii and the other was in Kenya).
But more importantly: so what? He became a Christian. The old has gone and new life has come!

Barack Obama is in favor of legitimizing homosexuality and endorse abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy, including the barbaric "partial birth" abortion.
He may call himself a Christian, but his fruits demonstrate otherwise....

Yep. I might call myself the King of England, but I ain't. The Word says, "by their fruits we'll know them." Judging by his fruits, Obama is no more a Christian than I'm a ham sandwich.

Actually it would be better for him to be a Muslim since to claim Christ and have the agenda he does makes it worse...

I am not a fan of Obama. I think he will win but I also think he will be very bad for this country. That being said, I don't buy this Moslem thing. The reason is that it is my understanding that if a Moslem converts to ANY other religion, whether it be Christianity, Bhuddism, or whatever, then that person is automatically given a death sentence under Islamic law.
I don't see any Moslems trying to take him out so that leaves three possibilities that I can see.
1. What I read from several different sources was not true.
2. He is only pretending to be a Christian to fool everyone into voting for him.
3. He was never a Moslem.
I think my sources were valid (they were text books written by both Moslem and non-Moslem authors) so I am discounting number one. If number two were the case, that would be a very vast international conspiracy which would involve every Moslem in the world (an extremely unlikely possibility), so I am discounting that one as well. That leaves number three as the only possible answer, unless someone can come up with a better one.
I don't like Obama and I will not vote for him because I do not like his policies but I can't buy into his secretly being a Moslem unless more concrete evidence surfaces.

As a McCain supporter, there is plenty to criticize re: Obama. But the depths to which Christians are stooping saddens me.

Why does there seem to be this desire from some that if a person claims to be a Christain that no matter what the person does and I am not talking about a single act but in fact lives a imanner that is conflict with walk with Christ it's "bad" to call the person out on it... It is what is it... Hugh Hefner says Jesus would have no issue with him or his Playboy gig because like Jesus he is all about love... I guess for some here that's all it would take and the rest of should should just accept it...

My other is simply that if we cannot accept that birth is not destiny, why are we claiming the great Commission?

I can see both sides on this.
The bible tells us that we will know Christians by their fruits. John's point about Hugh Hefner is pretty much the same thing I hear from gays and lesbians and that is that God won't condemn them for loving each other. I am not going get into that one right now though because this isn't the place for it as we already have a thread for that topic.
On the other hand, getting into a persons personal relationship with God/Christ and making accusations that a person is not a Christian, well, before any of us do something like that we had better be absolutely certain that we are on solid ground. Remember what Jesus said about blasephemy against the Holy Spirit when he was accused of using the power of Satan to cast out demons?

Mormons say they are Chrisitans... Do you believe them? JW's say the same... For that matter Muslims believe they are worshipping God in the manner He prescribes. If we are bound in having to accept what people say and even do and simply accept it how, how earth does one deal with false teaching? If I must accept Obama's claim of Christ don't have to accept the claims of of Mormon, JW's and Islam itself as well? How many times does Benny Hinn have to be wrong before he is rightly called a false prophet?
