In August the weekend before school started back our Church had a clothing and school supply giveaway, my wife and her sister also gave free hair cuts to any school age children that asked. The giveaway was a big success we got to meet many new people and gave away almost 150 backpacks full of school supplies and more cloths than I ever thought we could! All together I think the girls cut about 30 heads of hair, they are both cosmetologists by trade.
It is something we now plan to do every year, one of the ladies at Church felt God had supplied her with the idea that there was a need that needed meet in this area.
The rest of the story…
My BIL and SIL had become very hard hearted in the last few years, there was a time they knew the Lord and even had their two oldest daughters dedicated when they where babies. But had fallen away after a family dispute at the Church they once attended.
My SIL was touched by the outreach she had seen that day of the giveaway and had started bringing their daughters to Church, after a few weeks my BIL started coming with them. My BIL had told us earlier this spring that he wanted nothing to do with Church ever again. I knew they had been under conviction for the last few weeks. Last night was the last night of our four day Revival, and before the night was over the whole family had given their lives over to Christ! Praise the Lord.
My confession…
When the woman came to me and told me of her “vision” to give away cloths, I thought she was cracked. I couldn’t see anyway that people where going to come to our Church in the middle of nowhere for free worn cloths and pencils and paper. But in the short time I have known her I knew she was a woman of God and had enough confidence in her to do as she asked. Just look at what would have been missed!
I am so thankful that God’s plans are accomplished even in spite of a faithless servant such as I. May God forgive me and help me with my unbelief.
