I don't know if someone picked it up or may have put it on current events, but screen legend Paul Newman has passed away after a long battle with cancer. He also was known for his charity work with his Scott Newman Foundation, named after his son and was a buisness man with his Newman's Own food line.

Prayers and thoughts going up for the family..

Because he left a great body of work in his long career, what was your favorite Paul Newman films?

You beat me to it Gayle Kidding of course. I wasn't a big Newman fan, but his passing was sudden if not expected. He will be missed.

I love his organic products! I'm sorry he died, although he was pretty old and had a long life.

I loved his comment about not reading reviews: If they're good you get a fat head and if they're bad you're depressed for three weeks.

We can all learn from that statement.

Praying for his family during this time.

Oh...I'm so sad. I absolutely loved Paul Newman.

I was once on an elevator at my Doctor's Office in Beverly Hills and Mr. Newman got on with me. He said "Hello," and seriously, I could not speak. He chatted a bit, and I kept trying to answer but nothing but a few ridiculous words came out. He must have thought I was an absolute moron. We lived in BH and saw movie stars all the time, but he was such a beautiful man (those blue eyes) and so gracious, I was absolutely speechless.

He was a class act.

My heart goes out to his wife and family.

It's hard to hold a marriage together for most people. If I read the article correctly, he's been married to the same woman for somewhere around 40 years! That is awesome anywhere - especially in Hollywood.

Yep, got married in 63 and stayed that way. They even made a dozen movies together.

My favorite of his movies was Cool Hand Luke. I also thought he was great in The road to Perdition.

Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid - I'll never forget as a kid seeing him and Redford (okay, the stuntmen) jump off that cliff. "I can't swim!!" "HA! Are you crazy? The fal will probably kill you!" That was pretty an amazing stunt for movies back then. Plus the constant "who are those guys".

The Sting - when he was playing poker with Doyle Lonigan and kept all him 'Leinihan' or 'Loniman', and then he wipes his nose with the tie he borrowed. Classic!

Cool Hand Luke - "What we have heah is a failure to communicate" and "I can eat 50 eggs" "Why'd you say fifty? Why not 35 or 37?" "It seemed like a nice round number"

i sure hope paul newman was born again because even though he did do all those good things for the charities there will be alot of "good people" in hell as well. and again not saying that he is there but there is only on way to heaven and it's not by doing good for others.

My daughter and I bonded a lot over his last movie, Cars, so to not have him, or at least his voice, in the sequel is a really sad moment for us.
