Hi,

In the same vein as this Women's Issues/Men's Issues thread here: http://forums.christianity.com/Women%27s_Issues%2fMen%27s_Issues/m_7925/mpage_1/tm.htm#0...

One can see the subjects of a member's most recent posts on their profile and click through to the post. Is there anyway to also see the forum in which that post is found in the same area of the profile? Even if you hover over the link it just shows you the message ID (for example: http://forums.christianity.com/fb.aspx?m=46xxxxx) and AFAIK that doesn't give any clue re. the forum (not that I could memorize all of the forum IDs anyway). I've done some searching but can't find a way to turn a forum identification option on if there is one.

The reason I ask is I stumbled into an embarrassing (for me) thread in a forum in which I am not welcome by following an innocuous sounding post title from a recent posts link on a profile. Needless to say... TMI!!! TMI!!! Now someone probably thinks I'm perverted... Doesn't help that I opened the post in a new tab and it took me awhile to get around to it...

Don, most of us have done that from time to time... I also wish there were maybe a different color or some kind of notification that we're about to go into a women only/men only folder. But most people won't see you there if you go in or out once. And if they do, they won't think a thing of it. Now, there was a guy I consistently saw in Women Only_Personal Issues... and avoided him like the plague.

If I see a thread title that is "suspect", I quickly scan to the top to see if it's a He Said/She Said or a Women/Men Only folder. If I'm in the wrong place... I hightail it outta there.

Sorry, but I think there's some major overreactions here.

Men Only is for men only to post.

Women Only is for women only to post.

Women aren't forbidden from reading in Men Only, and men aren't forbidden from reading in Women Only. Just from posting.

As the moderator "Rules" post says in Women Only:

quote:

This Forum is for the women to share their struggles and to strengthen each other.

Men, please do not post in this Folder. Failure to comply with this request may result in further action up to and including your account being disabled.

If you have questions for the women please post them in She Says or Relationships folders.

Ladies, you can expect to see men browsing in this folder. If this fact makes you uneasy then you may want to reconsider what you post in here.

And as the corresponding "Rules" post says in Men Only: (and yep, I went there to find it)

quote:

The Men Only folder is reserved for Men to be able to share their struggles and to encourage each other without the participation of Women.

Ladies, please do not post in this folder. Failure to comply with this request may result in further action up to and including your account being disabled.

Ladies, if you wish to get feedback from men please use the He Says or Relationships folders.

Men, you can expect to see women browsing in this folder. If this fact makes you uneasy then you may want to reconsider what you post in here.

Don, you've done nothing wrong by reading in Women Only. I certainly wouldn't think anything amiss if I saw your name or any other man's name there as "present". Just as I wouldn't expect any man to think ill of me or any other woman who might be browsing the Men Only folder. Some of us do go there sometime especially if it's women who are being discussed in order to see what is being said.

If people don't want what they post to be potentially read by both genders, then, as the Rules say, might want to reconsider whether or not they post it. It's very clearly laid out there.

Good idea re. different colours for the men/women-only forums Grace-N-Mercy. Maybe women/men-only thread/post tiltles could be different colours so one could tell where they came from no matter where one is in the site. The traditional pink and blue might be cool.

I've accidentally gone into the wrong forum before. When that happens I get out of there as quickly as I can.

Me too. One time, I saw an interesting thread title and clicked on it, only to find it located in the Teen folder! Boy did I beat a hasty retreat!

Melissa, people other than Teens can POST in the Teen folder, so anyone else can certainly READ in there!!

Don't sweat it Don. I have wandered into the women's threads as well. As long as you don't make a habit of hanging out there you should be fine.

A while back there was a woman that kept constantly showing up in the most intimate thread of the Mens Personal folder. So much so that I even greeted her in the posts a time or 2.

She has not been back. (or if she has she has been in stealth mode)
