Does anyone have a SilPat? I love mine but it feels really greasy, all the time. I've tried washing it in the sink of water, and just by squirting Dawn on it, and even tried the dishwasher.
I like it a lot, but just don't know how to take care of it. Any suggestions?

That's the silicone baking stuff?
I use those professionally. Wash in mild detergent and let air dry. I wouldn't think yours really are greasy. The material has a sort of slick surface. Did they always feel like they do now or is this new?

Well, when I wipe a clean finger on it I can see a smear of grease.
I do love the thing, and bought some for baking breads and such. I used the sil pat on a cookie sheet and put chicken on it. It didn't stick and really turned out good but I just can't get it clean.
If I scrubbed it with a scour pad would it wreck it?

Kathy, did you use a degreaser? Dawn should do the trick. You know what really works good is that dawn that is in the pump where you wet your sponge and put one pump on to do your dishes. Do you know what I am talking about? That takes grease off of things really good. If you use that and a plastic scouring pad, I am sure that will clean it and not wreck it.

I have heard of it but I've not tried it yet. That is a good idea.
