Have you read this devotional book? If you wish to make a comment on it, that is fine.

However, I am primarily interested in, if many people these days have read it. I am especially interested to hear from people that use devotionals as part of their daily study time...

Please, as many people as can, respond...it is kind-of a researce question

Haven't read it, but I've sold quite a few over the years. It's a very popular devotional.

I voted yes but I have only used it occasionally. But when I have read it, I have enjoyed it.

I tend to not be a 'devotional' person. I've used devotionals for studies I have done with others but I find it difficult to use them on a daily basis otherwise. IOW I find God's word to be ultimately and supremely satisfying.:)

I have never heard of it. Who is it written by? What version of the Bible is it written in? Thanks.

No, I haven't read it. But I do like devotionals, last year I used My Utmost For His Highest by Chambers and this year I am using Opened Treasures by the great hymn writer, Frances R. Havergal. Is Streams in the Desert a yearly devotional?

Yes it is....And the reason I am asking is that I am writing a devotional book, myself and am pretty certain I am going to incorporate some of the days of Streams into mine....from the first edition which is in public domain.

Streams is from a compostion of authors and it is just lovely...

"One of the most dearly loved, best-selling devotionals of all time since its first publication in 1925. This enduring classic has encouraged and insired generations of Christians"

I would link to it but I have somehow lost my address bar on my computer....

But if interested, just Google it. You can get the old edition on line free or the newer one from our resident Christian bookseller that replied

My husband and I did this one a couple years ago for our devotional. I seem to remember it being very deep spiritually.

I like "My Utmost For His Highest" more, but "Streams In The Desert" is a good devotional. It's a "good read", and worth going through.

I am reading Streams right now and it is one of the better devotionals. The devotions are laid out for each day of the year and they usually take a Bible verse or spiritual poem and take a minute to dive into its application into our lives. I enjoy it thoroughly (as do my mother and sister).

My best girl friend gave me a copy for college graduation in May, and I have been enjoying it a lot.
