The Prophecies of Mitar Tarabich

While these alleged prophecies may not be 100% accurate (and hence we should not consider them Biblical or scriptural by any means), I found these alleged prophecies very interesting. I will take out some excerpts that I found interesting.

quote:

Everybody will ride around in carts with no oxen. People will travel in the sky, looking down upon our land as if they had climbed on the doubled Tara Mountain.

This stuff was written between 1829–1899

quote:

"The greatest and the angriest will strike against the mightiest and the most furious! When this horrible war starts, woe to those armies that fly over skies; better off will be those who fight on ground and water.

And many of the other alleged prophecies seem to have more detail and accuracy than most others (they're not as ambiguous as most other alleged prophecies). I don't think this can be ignored (but I'm not saying this guy is a prophet. It doesn't seem that he was 100% accurate). What does everyone think?

The main inaccuracy here is this

quote:

He will very much like to hunt, and one time while hunting he will accidentally fall from his white horse and thus lose his leg. From this wound he will die, not because of his great age."

quote:

Tito lived until 87 years of age (1892–1980). He did not have a hunting accident but he enjoyed horse-riding and hunting. The real cause of his death was diabetes, which caused his leg to be amputated.

It was close though (but close doesn't count in terms of Biblical prophecy). The rest seems to be somewhat accurate and detailed (more accurate than most other alleged prophecies).

quote:

Man will travel to other worlds to find lifeless deserts there, and still, God forgive him, he will think that he knows better than God himself. There, except for the eternal peace of God, he will see nothing, but he will sense with his heart and soul all of God’s beauty and power. People will drive in rigs upon the Moon and stars. They will look for life, but life similar to ours they will not find.

NASA has looked for life on Mars and elsewhere in space and has not found any thus far. "lifeless deserts" seems to fit the description of Mars pretty well, if you look at pictures of Mars that's basically what it looks like.

What does everyone think?

I think false prophecies, like horoscopes, find their strength in being vague. I don't think anything that was "prophesied" by this fellow is specific enough to not be predicted by anyone with a little imagination. The 1800s really weren't that long ago, and the idea of cars, someone dying from a leg injury, or lifeless worlds would not have been unthinkable to anyone, assuming they had access to basic scientific knowledge available at the time.

There is also the question as to authenticity. There have been sham historical documents, such as Hitler's diaries.

The history of flight follows a similar path - Da Vinci had designs for gliders, and no doubt there were other dreamers before him.

For a 19th century person to foresee cars and planes, and even space travel, required no great level of prophetic insight.
