As I may have mentioned on other posts, Twila Paris is my favourite artist in Christian music. However, I have heard very little from her website since November of last year; her last post in the site's blog is now deleted information about the national election that had just taken place. Moreover, she had only two concerts this year and none in or near the Twin Cities, which is where I live. This followed a year of 2008 in which she had only five gigs. I did find info about her personal life on Twitter, but none from the last month. Every time I hear the occasional Twila song on a church station, I scream in joy because it almost never happens.

So what has happened to her? Is it because of industry ****ization that is affecting older artists in general? Has she vanished because of her son JP's homeschooling? Has she just lost interest in music? Could be a combination of these explanations?

What are we to do to reverse this phenomenon? Petition the Christian labels to sign Twila? Start a Facebook group to spread the news of Twila's plight? Blast old Metallica (through at least ...And Justice for All and probably the Black Album as well) in the ears of the GMA officials? Something must be done!

Sorry about the suggestion of blasting Metallica in the GMA's ears.

she started in the 80s, she could just be burned out and out of ideas... remember the good ol days :)

one of my favorite artists, Starflyer 59, is practically liek the beatles now... he hasnt "toured" in probably about 4 or 5 years. he plays a spot show maybe twice a year... but he's mainly just a studio musician now... lame.

I liked Warrior is a Child and Lamb of God. I had her cassette For Every Heart which I liked. I also enjoyed her YWAM missions compilation Carry The Light which had several evangelistical songs from various artists on it as well.

She could be taking a break or just involved with day to day activities and doesn't feel she needs to be in the spotlight.
