So I've been having a hard time in my prayer life as of late. I start praying, but there are no words, just "God please..." and then feelings of axiety, irritation, and frustration.
(Some background for those who don't remember when I first joined: my son and only child, Joshua died when he was 9 1/2 months old and then my husband became abusive in his inability to properly deal with the loss. He left after 10 months of counselling. Then, I lost my job and could no longer afford my apartment because of the bills by ex-husband left me with, so I've been staying on the couch in my best friends house for several months now as I'm rebuilding my life after it collapsed.)
Anyhow...I want desperately to crawl up into the arms of my Holy Father and let Him be in charge of this rebuilding process. So in my prayers, I've been asking Him to lead me in His direction. And help me grow closer to Him everyday. But lately I've been just feeling so redundant in my prayers to Him that I can't even get the words out.
At my bible study this week we read 1st Samuel 3 where God calls Samuel for the first time and the way he answered God was, "Speak Lord, for Your servant is listening." So this week I've added that line to my prayers and really try to listen to what God is telling me instead of me doing all the talking.
The result? I don't feel like I've heard where He wants me to go, and I still can't think of anything other than the same old requests and petitions I've had in my prayers for this past year and a half. And I'm not feeling comforted or like I've sucessfully crawled into the arms of my Savior to be still.
So, with this I ask that perhaps someone can join me in prayer for my prayer life- that I'll listen to my Lord, and that I'll wait on Him.

THANK YOU! [image][/image]

dontbelonghere, my heart just goes out to you, you've been through so much. Sometimes when we're not even able to pray, the Holy Spirit interceeds for us.

quote:

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Dear Father, I just ask that You wrap Your loving arms around dontbelonghere, and help her to feel Your presence. Fill her with all peace, Your peace, and comfort her Father. Provide all her needs, and bless her Lord in such a powerful way, that it will bring tears of joy to her eyes. Thank You Lord. In Jesus name we ask. Amen

Our Precious Heavenly father,
We ask that you show your wondrous works in the life of dontbelonghere.
We ask that you touch her with "hearing from you" as to your plan for her Father God.
We ask that you touch her heart with so much joy for you that it is contagious to others.
We ask that you supply her needs Father God as you can only do.
We ask that you give her longings to follow you and have the ability to hear your voice.
We ask that you give her comfort, wisdom, peace, joy and understanding Father God.
We give you all the honor, praise and glory Father God for the things you do for us daily.
We ask these things in the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Praying in agreement with the above prayers.

Father,
Thank You for assuring us that we can boldly come before Your throne of grace.

In Jesus Christ's name we ask You to give her encouragement, extra trust in You and a special faith as she waits on You. Waiting on the unseen is terribly hard for us humans, so we ask for help.

Please help her prayers to be such that she will know that You are right there with her...listening. Help her to see the first steps to take, then the next and guide her every inch of the way.

Amen.

Lord, I pray for a breakthrough for dontbelonghere. Let every barren area of her life be fruitful. Thank You Lord that You are a God of redemption and restoration. Father God, bless this woman with Your peace that is beyond all comprehension. Lord, I pray that You will give dontbelonghere a revelation that You are in the midst of doing mighty things in her life. Sometimes Lord we don't have enough faith to sustain us through another day. We come to the end of our wits and wonder if You are even there? If You can even hear us? Why have You turned a deaf ear to us? Even though Your word says "Never will I leave you, nor forsake you", we still feel lost and abandoned at times. Lord, God give this woman faith to believe that she can be victorious over everything that opposes her. Help her to believe without doubt, that You are her healer and deliverer. In Jesus mighty and holy name amen

"You, O Lord, do not be far from me; O My strength, hasten to help Me" Psalm 22;19

"Show me your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths, Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day" Psalm 25:4-5
