- Just putting the finishing touched on a study about Elijah and John the Baptist that God spoke to me about one day while doing dishes. Not sure yet what He wants me to actually DO with what i found so can't share my conclusion just yet - Gave up on trying to understand some things about hebrew and God's pure (true?) Name until i learn to translate the hebrew for myself. - Reminding myself of how to praise with the Psalms - For my time of reading and just hanging out with God i can't decide if i should start with one of the minor prophets with which i am less familiar or if i should reread Song of Solomon which i have once in contrast to twice or three times for most of the rest of the Word. Even for for my favorites. Sorry i don't have more deep insights to share right now. Am in a transition period. God has shown me some things about His grace and mercy and power through some things, but He does not always bow to christian doctrine and ideals so, in order to respect the TOS rules, i need to be around longer to know for sure what i can and cannot share in this format. Am looking forward to hearing what everyone else is finding in the Word though!

I'm currrently reading in John. Here's an entry from my journal on John 8:3-11... The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?” This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground. But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.” (John 8:3-5) What grace was shown to the woman! I’m sure many women were stoned for adultery. If this particular woman were taken to another rabbi to be judged, the same thing would have happened; he would have said “stone her”. But she was taken to Jesus. And Jesus rescued her. They meant it as evil against Jesus, but He turned it into the woman’s good.

Fish. Ichthys = Symbolic meaning. The Greek word IXOYE= meaning fish. An ancient adaptation of ichthus is a wheel which contains the letters ΙΧΘΥΣ superimposed such that the result resembles an eight-spoked wheel. ΙΧΘΥΣ = Which is called (acrostic) which means to use the first letters of several words to make one word that has its own meaning. Now this is prophecy at its best, since this word was before Jesus Christ, and before He had started His ministry. And this will also help you tie the fish in the stories of the Gospel to Christ. · Iota (i) is the first letter of Iēsous (Ἰησοῦς), Greek for Jesus. · Chi (kh) is the first letter of Khristos (Χριστóς), Greek for "Christ" or "anointed". · Theta (th) is the first letter of Theou (Θεοῦ), that means "God's", genitive case of Θεóς, Theos, "God". · Upsilon (u) is the first letter of huios (Υἱός), Greek for Son. · Sigma (s) is the first letter of sōtēr (Σωτήρ), Greek for Savior. The first letters make up the word (ikhthus). Which was latter change in 20th century to ichthys, which is modern spelling as we know it. Still meaning fish. The words that were used to make up the word ichthys compiles to "Jesus Christ, God's son, savior," in ancient Greek "Ἰησοῦς Χριστός, Θεοῦ Υἱός, Σωτήρ", Iēsous Khristos Theou Huios, Sōtēr. The use of the ichthys symbol by early Christians was used for a number of reasons. When a Christian met a stranger in the road, the Christian sometimes drew one arc of the simple fish outline in the dirt. If the stranger drew the other arc, both believers knew they were in good company. Now here’s a little revelation for you, read these verses! Now we all know God uses Fish to carry out His work, Look at Jonah 1:17 Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. Jonah 2: 10 then the Lord spoke to the fish and it vomited him out on dry land. Jesus Christ knew this also: Fish are mentioned and given symbolic meaning several times in the Gospels. Several of Jesus' twelve disciples were fishermen. He commissions them with the words "follow Me and I will make you fishers of men." And that is meant for us today also, we just have to use the right bait. At the feeding of the five thousand, a boy is brought to Jesus with "five small loaves and two fishes". The question is asked, "But what are they, among so many?" Jesus multiplies the loaves and fish to feed the multitude. In Matthew 13:47-50, Jesus compares God's decision on who will go to heaven or to hell ("the fiery furnace") at the end of this world to fishers sorting out their catch, keeping the good fish and throwing the bad fish away. A less commonly cited use of fish in Christ's life may be found in the words of Matthew 17:24-27, in which, upon being asked if his Teacher does not pay the temple (two-drachma) tax, Simon Peter answers, "Yes." Christ tells Peter to go to the water and cast a line. He says that a coin sufficient for the tax will be found in the fish's mouth. Peter does as told and finds the coin. Luke 5: fished all night long In the John 21:11, it is related that the disciples fished all night but caught nothing. Jesus instructed them to cast the nets on the right side of the boat, and they drew in 153 fish. I'll let you get your own revelation instead of giving you mine! God Bless Rev. Dove

Prayed Psalm 130 today. I love this psalm. It is a beautiful reminder that the Lord hears our cries, listens to us, and that He forgives us . . . all encouraging us to fear Him as He deserves. Waiting for Him, my soul waiting more than watchmen wait for morning, I wait forthe Lord for He is my hope. Redemption, full redemption, will be mine. Hallelujah! Then I read in Mark's gospel and spent time pondering Jesus' questions to the disciples after they woke Him in the storm. Why are you so timid? How is it that you have no faith? Encouragement, love, comfort, and challenge. A typical day with Jesus.

I'm part of a group that's been studying Isaiah chapter by chapter for the past year. As part of my prep for the study, I spend time reading, studying, and meditating on my own. The picture of God painted by Isaiah is just amazing. We just finished chapter 45 this week, so there's a while left to the journey.

Emotions! Where are they in the bible? What emotions did Jesus display? What is said about them? How are they related to our christian walk or the holy spirit? Why did God give them to us? Fruit of the spirit and why do so few christians appear to be filled? etc.. Have a growing sense that they should be much more central to christianity than they are.

I have been studying Psalms and Romans with my wife. Acts in a bible study. Just finished Joshua with an accountability partner. Joshua has been huge in my walk right now. Shown me a great deal about leadership as a man, husband, and father. In Acts God has really revealed many truths about ministering to others only by His guidance adn not what I think I should do. Psalms and Romans have been great because it is the first study my wife and I have ever done and been consistent with. It gives me great insight into her heart concerning God.

I find it's an inspirational and powerful prayer as I meditated the below Scriptures lately! It's said in I Samuel 2: 1-10, "And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalte in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation. There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are grided with strength. They that were full have hire out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry cease: so the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble. The LORD killeth, and aketh alive, he bringeth own to the grave, an bringeth up. The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, an lifteth up. He raised up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the begar from the dunhill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LOR's, and he hath set the world upon them. He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces: out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed." Who can estimate the power of our Father!? To God be the glory!

I've been reading the Book of Psalms! To see truly King David was a great musician, with all sorts of instruments, it makes me believe that giving glory to God through music could bring restoration and victory! Psalm 92: 1-4, "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovekindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound. For thou LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands."
