I was wondering about this, especially with the T-shirt bras.

I don't know about best, but what works for me is to fold them in half (cup to cup) and then fold the flappy parts into the bottom. I then fold the matching undies in half around them. They are stacked like that in my drawer. This works for me, but if you don't match your undies and bra, this may sound a bit crazy and not work for you. I just decided years ago that there was no sense in looking sloppy at home and that my undies would always match my bra. And all of my bras are underwire, so they hold their shape even while folded.

So does that mean one cup is inside out when you fold it?

With the padded, formed bras, I had heard that you shouldn't put one cup inside out, that you should twist the bra in between the cups and put one inside the other so that you aren't pushing one cup inside out. It's hard to explain, does that make sense?

I do that too. I think that's how VS folds their bras also. Sometimes I twist so their not folded inside out.

I twist them too. Or lie them flat.

The shop I buy my bras from encloses a little flyer that tells about storing bras properly. It says if they are contoured(padded and shaped) that you should never fold them flat, or with one cup inside out. As someone else said, twist them in the middle so that each cup is shaped as if it's on your body, then place one inside the other. Then makes sure it's not squished by other clothing piled on top. It says those kinds of bras get "dents" if the cups are flattened or turned inside out too often. If they are not padded at all then you can fold them however you want since it's the breast alone that gives the cup it's shape.

People fold their bras? I stuff mine in a drawer after they come out of the dryer. The hang up the bra tanks I have.

Bras in the dryer?? I never dry mine. It breaks down the fabric and causes them to lose their support and shortens the life of the bra considerably. I hang mine on a hanger in the bathroom til they dry.

I actually find this funny, because I only have about 3 bras, so they never make it to a drawer anywhere....they hang on the doorknob on my closet

I dry mine. I tried handwashing them, but got too lazy. I've never had bras lose their oompf on me before I got tired of it.

I guess I'm paranoid. My bras are very expensive and as long as they fit well and support well, I don't get tired of them. I want them lasting as long as they can.

I buy mind from VS usually. I just can't get them to fit right. The best bras are racerbacks, and I can't wear them with most of my shirts. So ....... I have a selection of regular bras that just don't fit right. I should get sized, but I think I'm between sizes. I've tried on all the sizes around what I wear and can't find anything that fits any better than what I already buy. My problem is the straps fall down. I think my shoulders aren't built right for the straps to stay up. I've tries tightening them, loosening them, buying a smaller cup, bigger cup, smaller around, bigger around ... they just don't fit. I currently have two different size sport-tanks (a tank top with a sports bra built in so I don't have to wear a bra and a shirt when I work out). The large is too big in the bra part, but perfect to cover my belly; the medium is perfect in the bra, but too small for my belly. And I'm not overweight, I'm right where I should be. But my chest and my belly aren't proportional apparantly. sigh On a related note: I read somewhere that when fastening your bra you should always put it on the loosest clasp to allow for it to stretch out, that's the only time you should go to the next clasp. So I guess if it fits best on the middle or inside clasp, the bra is too big.

So I guess if it fits best on the middle or inside clasp, the bra is too big. I got fitted a couple of years ago and thats what they said...the nicer lingerie shops will tell you that too. It should fit perfectly on the loosest hook when you first buy it. If not, then you need to go down one band size. Otherwise, if you have no place to go when the bra stretches out, you lose support. Christine, you should consider getting fitted. I resisted it for a long time, but it was the best thing I did. Not only do they help you get a true size, but they tell you which bras work best for your shape and desired support. They even take into account your shoulder shape and how long your torso is. I was really surprised at the difference it made, and how much more comfortable and well fitting my bras are now.

I probably will eventually. Everytime I go bra shopping other people are with me and I don't want to be the one to hold us all up because I'm getting fitted for a bra. So far, the best bra besides my racerbacks (which fit PERFECTLY) are VS's new biofit.

There hasn't been much to hold up so I get away with the cheapies. Me, too, but I still want mine to last as long as possible. It's hard for me to find a bra that is comfortable, so when I find one, I try to make it last. I hate underwires, and it's so hard to find a bra I like, without wire. I agree on underwires. That's why I like my sport bras. I can get them for about $5 each or less and they last a while too.

I can't stand the "uni-boob" effect of a sports bra I fold mine just like Zippy does hers. I used to pair them with the matching undies but my undie collection is looking pretty scarce these days although I will be fixing that shortly!

I only wear them when working out, so I don't care what I look like, just how they support. However ... I think that I'm not big enough for the uni-boob anyway. It all still looks pretty flat to me.

Oh, I wear them when I'm working out but I like the whole "lift and separate" deal when I'm not
