What is the worst movie ever? Basically, what mega-budget movie was so hyped up, that it didn't live up to it's expectations, or was just plain bad.........

Election & the one w/ Al Pacino & Tea Leoni (can't remember the name).
I just recently saw Mean Girls & was pretty ticked at it by the fact it's promoted to be a teen flick. I'm sure it's probably marked very high by Nickelodeon since so much about Nickelodeon has to do w/ degrading parents. k

Punch Drunk Love was wonderful.
I thought How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days was pretty bad. That Tom Cruise pilot movie from the 80s was pretty bad (IMO) too. I always fall asleep in it. Dirty Dancing. I just don't get it.

The worst big budget movie that I was unfortunate enough to watch was Pearl Harbor. Dreary propaganda through and through. Might appeal to some Americans but it left my European self very lukewarm.

I have to agree, Napoleon Dynomite. I saw a small bit of it and seriously lost brain cells. I began to drool and stutter like Patrick on SpongeBob does from time to time.
I also hated Talladega Nights. The best parts where in the trailer and not even in the movie. Will Ferrell seems to be on a winning streak for moron movies. Elf was pretty bad and his new "Blades of Glory" just is so distrubing on so many levels.

Cheaper By the Dozen. Absolutely hate it.
Reason 1. Steve Martin
Reason 2. Hillary Duff
Reason 3. Had absolutely no resemblence to one of my all-time favorite movies by the same name even though it was marketed as a remake. The only similarity I could find was the number of kids.

"Mission to Mars" from maybe four years ago. I like sci-fi, but this one tossed chunks. Even the product placement of horrendously done.
"The Core". Why? It was basically 'Armageddon' going down instead of up, and at least 'Armageddon' was fun, even if silly.

I've seen Manos, thankfully anesthetized through MST3K. I think the OP was thinking more of a major movie with lots of money and I suppose name actors that still stunk up the cinema.

Microwave Massacre is a runner-up to Liquid Sky.

Besides "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes"? Solaris, starring George Clooney as a guy who sees ghosts on a space station. Really, really, really bad movie.

I am old enough to have seen some really bad movies.
I remember going out on a date to see 'Xanadu' - she said she loved it.
Of course I never asked her out again.

I own Punch Drunk Love, didn't feel strongly either way about Election, Tideland is still in my queue.
Xanadu is pretty bad, but makes up in cultural relevance points.
