Pasta is the name or better still Paella. I love both. The latter is even much easier, quicker and more fun to cook and even eating is more handy. Now I started to feel hungry and I've just had supper only a couple of hours ago. Isn't that funny???

Baked beans are what all of my family ask me to bring when we get together.

Depends on the gathering. If it's a barbecue they ask for baked beans. If it's Thanksgiving I bring mashed yams and chocolate pudding pie.

Lasagna. Or cheesecake if I'm on for dessert.

My family likes for me to do the veggies. I usually do about 5 choices on one big platter. Some combination of peas, corn, asparagus, mushrooms, carrots, green beans, onions, red peppers, spinach, squash (the choices are endless).
If you put 5 or 6 choices out there then nobody goes without their veggies. Even the kids can find something they like. As for cooking method, I like roasting.

If I'm on for main dish - most requested is chicken pot pie
If I'm on for side dish - most requested is Thai Salad, next is frozen salad
If I'm on for dessert - either apple pie, pecan pie or Tollhouse Pie for adults. Kids request my snickerdoodles!

Banana pudding. I usually take other stuff too, but people always ask to make sure I'm bringing a banana pudding.

Corn casserole. It's ridiculously easy and I always want to cook something more extravagant and that is the one dish that I'm required to bring to meet and eats.

sure!

four or five medium yellow crook neck squash
one medium onion (white or yellow)
two cups sharp cheddar cheese
one can cream of chicken soup
one tube of RITZ crackers. (NOT saltines!)
one egg

crush the crackers finely
slice squash and boil them with the chopped onion
drain and put in baking dish, mash together.
add all but a handfull of the cheese, the can of soup, and egg, and mix.
add the crackers and mix well
smooth with a spoon, and sprinkle remaining cheese on top
bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or so..until cheese is very bubbly and browning.

Don't use large squash, as they may be pithy.

"Elegant Chicken" It's just a fancy name for chicken on a bed of dried beef, topped with bacon, and smothered with cream of mushroom soup, sour cream. Cook all in a slow 250 degree oven for 3 hours. So tender and yummy. Great for dinner parties where you can pop it in the oven in advance.

I'm going to try that squash casserole! It's nice to find another recipe for that over-abundance from the summer garden!

Church dinners -- my chicken n' noodles bring rave reviews. Although people argue about whether it's actually noodles or dumplings. I say noodles because it's large egg noodles. Dumplings are the big, handmade flour things that you drop in.

Family Requests -- Roasted vegetable medley
Coconut cream pie from scratch
Whole wheat pancakes
Banana muffins

Your family requests a dish with VEGETABLES in them?

My kids AND hubby do this when I serve anything but corn --

Where do I find such good eaters to feed?!?!?

I'm asked to bring Israeli salad. It goes with just about everything and doesn't need refrigeration.
