I do know that some women, even if they have chatted at length with you, wont make the same amount of conversation if your girlfriend is there. Why? Mainly because they dont want her to think that they are flirting or something. She could have been interested, or she could have just been being friendly and didnt want to cause tension between you and your girlfriend. (some girls can get jealous!)

I'd think she was just being friendly because it was your first week at church. I know that we have a welcome committee that is in charge of greeting visitors and getting to know them.

Unfortunately, I think some women see church as a place to meet nice single guys rather than a place to further their relationship with the Lord. I have to agree with crh737. She probably saw a potential boyfriend in you. But rather than point all the fingers at this woman and make her sound shallow, I have to ask you a question. Were you flirting with her?

I was just being friendly because this guy hadn't been in church for some time. If he had brought a girlfriend after that though, I'd say "Hi" to both and leave it at that. Instead, he asked me out and we've been married over thirty years.

She could have been interested in you and thats why she didnt say anything, but also she could have just being friendly wanting to get know you, welcome you so you didnt feel excluded from everyone. are you sure she ignored you?

She could have been interested in you, but it doesn't really matter if you have a girlfriend. Personally, I am friends with men and I find them easier to talk to and get along with, but being that I am a woman, I know how most woman think and react, so I know better than to be too friendly with boyfriends, even if it is just friends. Women don't typically appreciate this very much, so she was probably looking out for you and herself by avoiding spending to much time around you. If your girlfriend likes you at all, this would have brought some uncomfortable questions for the ride home.
