Hi Fritz,

Sorry if this is redundant, and thanks for all your hard work, but I still don't get it.

I asked:

How do you set it in your profile to automatically subscribe to any thread you post in?

And what's the difference between "Subscribe to a thread" and "Subscribe to a forum?"

AND....how do you permanently "turn off" the "Notify me via e-mail when someone replies" box at the bottom of a "Post new thread" or "post reply" page?

I'm very confused....

You answered:

1. This is a known bug and is addressed in the Known Bugs thread at the top of the Feedback & Help folder. Please read that first before asking new questions.

2. Subscribe to forum is turned off. It subscribes you to an entire folder, not just an individual discussion.

3. That is located in your "My Profile" next to the "Posting Preference" heading.

Now I say:

1. Sorry, didn't know I was supposed to read "known bugs" first cause I wasn't sure what that meant.

2. Okay.

3. Here is what I have under "Posting Preferences:"

Posting/Editing style:
Pop-up x Inline posting
x Always Subscribe to threads when I post

After posting/editing a message, redirect me to:
x the message I posted
the forum which the message resides in

I don't see anything about turning email notification on or off in this area.....

THIS is what I want to turn off......

[ ] Add signature | [x] Notify me via e-mail when someone replies

It's found under the post or reply box...the one I'm typing in right now....and it automatically checks the "notify me..." box. I don't want it to do this.

Thanks....

Mrs O... it seems that there's a bug in the system regarding the email and people are getting them even though they've chosen not to get them... and Fritz and co are working to sort it out so we all don't drown in emails....

Now, I'm confused, because I want to subscribe and see the threads listed under My Forums, but I don't necessarily want to receive e-mails. Do you think that will be possible or will we have to be diligent about checking/unchecking the [x] Notify me via e-mail when someone replies box?

Sorry for the added confusion.

Thanks!

For now you'll have to go in and uncheck the box.

I hope to in the future have the box unchecked by default.
