Men have a much greater need for respectful words than they do for "endearing" words. If you show respect for him in public, and show admiration and appreciation for his gifts and any efforts he makes to serve you and mankind, then what name you call him by will probably be fairly irrelevant. You could probably call him "kitten" and get away with it if you portrayed him as a lion in front of others.

(BTW - calling him "handsome" may or may not have any effect. If he is not vain, then not calling him handsome won't bother him one bit, and calling him handsome probably doesn't mean much.)

you can show admiration via a few words of appreciation and by limiting any rebukes or criticism. admiration might not be one of his top emotional needs.

I don't know about other guys, but I really liked it when my GF called "Baby".

Don't ask me why. Maybe it's cause I loved her so much she could've called me a "lumpfish" and I'd've liked it.

I like "Hey Sexy" - but since you're not married, you'll have to hold off on that

call him something wild and outrageous. something that will make his ears perk up, something that will challenge his perceptions of what you are really thinking..-but don't say them if you don't mean them.

I can't put an example in here for ya, but if you follow the train of logic here, you will know exactly what endearing name(s) to call him.

they come from paying attention to him, and will confirm to him that he is nothing short of the very best (in your eyes)
