Now that it's a month and a half later, how did the retreat go?

Yep! And I'm all caught up, though I confess there was one thread (Ray's, I think) that I didn't read all I missed. The others had had so little activity that I could have been caught up weeks ago!

Hi Maggie :)

It went VERY well! I was scheduled to speak after dinner, and as dinnertime approached I got so nervous that I didn't eat. I was afraid I'd either throw up or have a diarrhea attack, my stomach was doing so many acrobatics.

One of my friends (who was speaking after me) prayed with me, and then I was up. From the moment I began speaking it was like being where I belonged. I didn't feel rushed or scared, just a little nervous at the beginning, and I had no sense of the passing of time. Have you ever been in a situation where time passes and you aren't aware of it, and when it's over you can't believe that so much time went by? The only ever time that's happened to me was when I saw a live theatrical production of Phantom of the Opera in San Francisco...oh, and when I saw Braveheart at the movie theater.

I shared everything I'd planned, people laughed, they listened, and after I was done I received some nice applause. I also received quite a few compliments from some of the older women after I got back to my seat. I was so happy it went well, I think perhaps that I'm seeing what God might have in store for me. Only He knows, but I'm willing.

The other Sunday one of the older women came up to me and asked me if the Women of Faith conference had called me to come on tour with them

It is, Kath :)

I shared that evening that back in 1990 I wrote in the back of my bible that I thought God wanted me involved in women's ministry, then forgot about it since nothing had happened, and now look at this! I could end up involved in that in a small way at my church :) Maybe even something bigger someday. My favorite women's speaker is Patsy Clairmont. She's so funny, and has so much compassion and grace and shares God's love so well in her talks.

I'm so glad that everything turned out so well at the retreat, Kimmie.

Yes, I am still trying to catch up on my subs.

Thanks, Trish :)

Now I'm busy getting info for places to have next year's retreat. The planning never stops, it only slows down and then gets intense :)

Are there others who help with the planning?

Yep, I sure am! It's nearly 11 months that I've been at this temp assignment. Wow! I have no idea how much longer I'll be here. Only God knows for sure :)

On another note, I changed my username. It's time. I've been kimberlysfrog for at least 10 years now.

Yes, you sure were!

I figure you got the new handle from the song, not the stripper.

The song :) I like it, and the His is God's :) Was there a stripper? I had no idea, I just knew the title from the song, and at the moment I can't even recall who sang it.

Yes, Gypsy Rose Lee. Natalie Wood did a movie about her called Gypsy.

It was the best I could find that salem offered. I can't upload a new avatar, the system is broken, and I don't think it's a priority. And it won't let me just turn avatars off either.

I wish he had just one maxine one.

Great new name, Kimmie.

I don't think I could ever change my nick. I've had it for so long. It was my nick in some other chats that I used to frequent before finding CW.
