Hi again. What is going on with everyone these days? My brother is flying in for my moms celebration of life on Friday and the service is on Monday.

I would venture to say that back in the 1960s or 1970s when my mom was in her child bearing years. She was a heavy bleeder,especialy after the birth of my younger brother in 1972. Back then blood was not vigorously checked like it is now. In short she got some tainted blood with hepatitis. She was hospitalized for nearly 3 weeks in 1974. She lived relatively a normal life until about 1998. That is when she had some mussels at a restaurant that made her so sick she was in and out of the hospital during that summer. Fast foreward to last year. I was to spend the night before Easter with her. She was found by her neighbor to be confused and disoriented. I know she also had a small stroke,and I figured she may have had another. So I called 9-1-1. That is when we were told that due to her liver or the early stages of liver failure caused her ammonia levels to be dangerously high. She spent about a week in the hospital. Then in August her ammonia levels were again high. This time my younger brother and sister in law were there. She spent 3 more weeks in the hospital. The end stages near November her chest started to bloat with ascites. That is when the liver is in the end stages. The fluid was drained from her at least 4 times.. She was so bad I could no longer take care of her. So it was decided that she would be placed in the hospice unit. And her liver completely failed and she passed away on February 7th.

In closing that. When my mom passed my brother had to return to Cleveland. He has a family to support. He did come out at a high cost to him. And he missed about a week and a half of work. So he had to get back and take care of his bills,and so on. That is why there is an almost two month span between her passing and the memorial..

My brother and sister in law did get in safely. I talked to him this morning.. We are going swimming and bbq-ing tomorrow,and the memorial is on Monday. From what I hear we are going up to the Grand Canyon on Tuesday. I have lived in Arizona for 11 yrs and have never been there. lol.. I will try to add something in tomorrow. Have a great day.

My moms' Celebration Of Life was very good. My younger brother delivered an excellent eulogy. Then we were given an opportunity to say a few words.. I did not have anything written so I had to come up with something. It was in a sense. She was an interesting person who was interested in our interests.

My brother,and sister in law got back to Cleveland safely. I found out that I will be getting about $30. a month for five years. Mom had a small life insurance policy,evenly divided by the four of us. I had a routine medical exam all is good with me too. I am on medication for epilepsy,and do have to do the bloodwork every now and then.

It is a wonderful day in the neighborhood. 84f degrees and,sunny. Diamondbacks won last night. I have to work this evening through Tuesday evening. The Arena Football League is 20. Considering that the USFL lasted 3 seasons (83-85),and remember the XFL lasted a whole season. (2001). And the WFL in the Mid 70s

I had to do two things today. Had to get groceries,and my perscription/then I went to work. Nothing real eventful. Talked to my Grandma to see how she was doing. She had company so I didnt talk to her too long.

Well it is Tuesday. The third day of the week. The Cavs won last night and,the Suns are stinking up Phoenix.lol. I will continue this later this evening.

The Cavs got beat by the Pistons,and the Indians lossed too. Oh well. I had to go do some errands today. The weather is really heating up. We had 90+ today. I am watching this Star Wars special on A and E. It is pretty interesting. Even though I may have it already. My sister in law has a bad sinus infection. She sounded terrible. I was surprised that she wasn't in bed. But with 2 kids. It is difficult.

I hope everyone had a pleasant Easter. The weather here in Phoenix is warming up. Now I don't have to wear a jacket anymore. Well that is unless it rains. I don't have to be at work till 6PM on Monday and,Tuesday. Then I am off Wednesday-Thursday. Payday is Friday. lol. Hava good one.

I woke up and,made a pot of coffee. Then I had to run some errands. I made it a point to go visit my mothers former neighbor who helped her when I was either at work or doing errands. We chatted for about a half an hour. I then got home and,made some chicken breast for dinner. I had to race up to Walgreens to pick up a perscription. I then watched the D Backs baseball game,and was on CW at the same time. Or in other words I multi-tasked.lol.

Part One- Of myself. I am John or Dawgfan_38. I am planning to change my handle to dawgfan_40 for I will be that this August. I am the third of five children (one died of a rare birth-defect) so second. I grew up in Cleveland,Ohio. I being the middle (second born and two after me) was as obscure as one could get. The early years were relatively uneventful. I went to school,did Cub Scouts and so on. That brings us to
Part Two- The 1980s. I was in Junior High at the time from 79-to 82. I was involved with Student Council,and did intermural bowling. I went to Church camp but did not have a complete understanding of what God was and,so I went to Work camp in 1982,and again in 1984. I did alot of volenteer work at that time with The Muscular Dystrophy Telethon from 1984-to 1986. That is when I graduated from Parma Senior High in 1985. About that time my dad started getting sick. He had a rare cancer (multiple myeloma). So upon my graduation and,I was taking care of the house because he was hospitalized much of 85-87. My mom was an instructor at Kent State University and, living there part time. So it was my responsability to make sure my brother went to school,and did his homework. As his condition deteriorated I was needed more to be with him at the hospital and nursing home until he passed away in 1987. I worked and,went to Cuyahoga Community College part time. Finances were not too good so I left. Went to work at Olgas Kitchen until they closed in 1991.
The 1990s I met a girl and we began dating. He parents were not supportive because I was starting back to school,and they wanted someone who already had $$$. So that ended in 94. I then relocated to Phoenix after repeated suggestions from my brother. I finally gave in. That is when I started trying to find myself. My sister in laws friend convinced her to go to church,and then in July of 1995 I started going too. I was baptized shortly thereafter. I was uncomfortable with the church though. They seemed snobbish,and as above-all so described dogmatic. So with another friend I met we started looking. I found a real nice church. Meaning that the people were very nice. Maybe not in the best area in town. But the people were sincere. Became a member and was there from 96-98. That is when I moved to Mesa,Arizona.
Part 3-New Millenium- I was reading the Bible on a regular basis. Going to church when I could. I work at a restaurant. Sundays are the busiest day of the week. So whenever I could I would go. Up to now..
I am planning on changing career fields as I approach 40,and the Sept 11th attacks influenced my decision on doing a career of something in disaster planning,and preparedness. God bless you.
My favorite teams are from Cleveland,and Phoenix. I like the fine arts. I trust God that he will guide me everyday.

I know this is just an in conclusion add on to yesterdays post.
I have experienced many good things,and bad as well. My parents both passed away,and yet the experiences have made me stronger. I refuse to blame God. He is good. Blaming him would just be a cop-out. I love and, Trust God will guide me in life. You all have great day now.

Well HI!!! How is everyone. Well my work-week begins again tonight. It is getting hot here. The winter visiters are headed back to the northern states. The Cavs are tied with the Wizards at one game apiece. The Indians pounded the Red Sox last night 15-3. God is awesome and I thank him for this day. More after work.

Once again I am back here to chat about what is going on. The Indians won again. Woohoo. The Browns drafted Kameron Wimbley in the nfl draft. The Cards drafted Matt Leinart. Kurt Warner has some competition now.. I went to work as usual. Just got home now. I made spighetti before coming on-line.. Two more days of work before my weekend.. I am looking for a church that is closeby.

Well that was a shocker. I found out that I was going to in my 20s get involved with masonics. I was in Demolay from 84-87. By all rights I should have become on when I turned 21. But something held me back. Yeah my Dad,Grandfather,and Great Uncle were in it. My dad as well as my Grandfather were as they call them Worshipful Masters in the lodge. I found out that in short that it a religon complete with prayers,an alter,and someone who is supposedly ordained by God. I found out that as a Christian I should not get mixed up with it. And,I thought it was merely a social group that did many good deeds.It is amazing how that is done. New Age undertones appear in just about everything.

Good early morning hours of Monday May 8th. I cannot sleep. Grrrrrr. I am going to the mall tomorrow after work. Then to the store to pick up some stuff. I am still scouting the church that opened on the corner. Probably will check it out on Sunday. I saw the last surviving person from the USA that was on the Titanic died. She was 99. The Indians won,and the Cavs lossed. Oh well The Pistons still have to win three more. The Lakers found out that being up 3 games to 1 can give the false sense of security. Just ask the 03 Cubs..lol

Good evening everyone. Well I am glad that is over. I got my place re-organized. Ran two shredders side by side shredding some of my moms papers,and some of mine..lol.. Then I pared down to what I absolutely needed. Discarding what was not needed. I in a sense had two apartments crammed into mine. So now it is at a managable level. I went to the store and picked up some pepsi,and it reached 100 degrees.lol.

Hi Again, How was everyones weekend? Saturday I was on-line and worked, Sunday my sister,and brothers family went to see the headstone for my mom. Monday I thought I was off but was asked to work because someone played hooky. So here I am on now on-line and,all. The Cavs beat the Pistons twice. Now the series goes back to Detroit.

Good afternoon. How is everyone who has tooked a looksie at this. I had to go to work early and, I just got home a little while ago.. It was hot at 7 am and at close to 3 it is so hotter. So I got the AC cranked up to maximum. At least I am off till Friday afternoon. YAY. I can stay up way later. I am getting the High Speed Internet tomorrow. YAY.. No more tied up phone lines.. lol.. They have a package deal for $100 I get digital cable,phone,and internet...Woohoo..

Here we are at another weekend. Day 2 of 5 for my work week.lol. We have now had 6 straight days of 100+ degree weather,and summer is a month away. I dread what it is going to be like in July,and August.. I know that the Cavs lossed only by 2 to the Pistons. Grrrr. So it all boils down to tomorrow. lol.

That is it for me. My work week is over. Now I get to sit back and,watch you all work. Work went good. I did some projects that cannot be done on the weekends. I am not sure what I am going to do tomorrow. Play it by ear I guess. I had to run to the pharmacy before work and,get some perscriptions. Have a great day at work folks. God Bless You.
