First post long time user of this website in my queries into various questions, sometimes for my own edification or as part of forum discussions. I reside in Northern California some 39 miles north of San Francisco, am married to a wonderful Catholic wife, and have raised 4 children all of whom currently are in college. Oldest son is a senior in Economics at UCSB, Oldeest daughter is a Seniior Biology major at Sonoma State, and youngest son is a RHP at CSU East Bay majoring in Criminal Justice. The youngest works and goes to College of Marin. I was born and raised in San Francisco, graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1960 and then went to New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell New Mexico. I was raised by Pentacostal Holiness parents who were saved during an Aimee Mcpherson Revival. As a result I came to know the Lord as a young child during a Sunday School call to prayer. I then spent many yars working in my father's church along with my five other sibling's as a young soloist and choir member. Our family held many revivial services all around California for many years until I was a teenager. Then something happened to my Dad during a prayer service where he was praying for a demon possesssed person. Thereafter he was not the same person and eventally left the church. Our family has endured and my sisters and brother are still devoted Christians and faithful church members. My wife and I do not attend church any longer as what we have found there is more there to corrupt our faith then if we stay grounded in, the conservative interpretation of the tenets of God's word. Our devotion is our Lord and Savior, not to any man or religious interpretation of what the word means. We get much of our religious watch much of the 700 club, John Hagee, etc. I have read many of post here and see that a vibrant interaction takes place including disagrreements of simple Bible verses and their meaning. It is good that people of faith test their understanding of the Word for we all can learn from each other what is good and well, and also that which is not of the Word. I hope to do more reading then writing...as I have found you learn so much more that way.

Hi. I have been living in Jerusalem for the past 3 years. I work with a organization that provides meals to people begging on the streets and do the laundry in a hostel in exchange for my "free" bed. That can mean working any where from 3 to 17 hours in a single day to pay for my $12 a night bed. I live in a dorm and do Bible translation from Christianize into English by telling stories from the Bible in a way that everyone can relate to no matter where they are coming from. Living pretty much by faith that the Lord will provide. I'm pretty much computer illiterate but I thought I'd give this a shot. Shalom, Singleye

Hello, Fritz.. Cleveland here... What a blessing to read through this thread and to just enjoy all the good things so many folks have to say... I tried to register earlier today, and realized I was already a member... Goes to show you how much I know... I come to crosswalk just about every day to use the Bible Study Helps... I wouldn't know what to do without the help I get from CW.. With out it, my brain just goes blank.... I'm 70 going on 71.... but still trying to learn... It's really great to know you and your wife are homeschooling your children.. After being involved in the public school system for some forty years, I know it's not the place for Christians to send their children... This concept is so difficult for many to understand... And I congratulate you on the job you do here... Now I want go look this place over and get to know a few folk... God bless you, Fritz... YBIC, Cleveland Oh! What does it mean "Upload requires at least 50 posts"?

Hey Cleveland! Thank you so much for your encouraging words. It's great to have you aboard. 50 posts means you have to have made 50 posts before you will have the "rights" to upload images. That's to protect us from people who join for the sole purpose of uploading homosexual porn. See ya around! quote:

Thank you. I found this forum by googling 'christian forums'. I'm enjoying it and I look forward to using the tools of the sidebar (Christian Foundations, Christian Living, Bible Study Tools). I guess I'm just looking for a little guidance to help me become closer to the Lord. I have checked out oneplace.com and listened to some of the sermons. It's great!

Hi there. I have been a member for a while now but not noticed this section until now. I friend of mine brought me here. I have been recently saved and 3 weeks ago was baptized. This Spiritual way of life is new to me. I am 56 and Bob's widow. I am happy knowing that he is on one shoulder and Jesus is on the other. I find there is much Spiritual Food shared here and I too want to contribute... and have. May God keep shining His light through you so that others can find their way to Him.
