(((((((((((Shaunii))))))))))) Wow! What an awesome time. I went parasailing at the river last year. I was scared to death but it was very exhilarating. My guy had to call it a day after me because of winds also. It was very windy when I was up there. I'm so glad you had such a good time.

Day 7 St. Lucia I’d been looking forward to going to St.Lucia for years and years… I don’t even know why… but finally I was on my way to St. Lucia… we arrived and as every other morning we went for breakfast… which usually consisted of (for me) French toast, eggs, bacon, fruit, and some juice that they had on ship. We had a lovely view of the island and as we sat for breakfast we remarked on how rested we were. Today was a tour day, no beach. So we all donned our gym shoes and some comfortable clothes and as we got ready we realized that we all sorta matched … it was kinda funny… So we get off the ship around 10ish and head through the dock and we arrived right at this central tour desk (so very organized) and you told them what you wanted to see and then they set you up on a tour designed for you. We wanted to see the drive-in active volcano and the springs. That’s what read about in our guide. So they set us up on this tour and our captain had told to return early to the ship (4pm – normally it was 5pm). So we tell them that and they’re like okay, you all need to go and they sent us along with two other ladies off and got us a taxi (Van). So we get in and we head off and stop on a local street and pick up a man and his wife. The man was handicap and in a wheel chair so we had to go to bat for him at times for the driver to position the van where he could see the views too… as he couldn’t get out and walk and it was really a struggle getting him in and out. Nikki helps one of our Godmother’s with her mom so she was great in helping the woman get her husband sitting upright and comfortable. The couple was from Wales and they were nice. The wife was a SUPER chatterbox.. and we all started envisioning life at their house… he couldn’t just go away… she babbled on and on… he was trying (nicely) to tune her out … just.. rather… super talkative but she was sweet… So we head off and we drove through the banana fields and we saw farmers bagging the bananas in blue bags and removing some. We drove along through these roads (no stoplights) that wove through the mountains. The driver drove very fast. He was moving out… and would dart around someone quickly, on winding turns and all… our heart stayed in our throats… so we’re driving and I’m snapping pictures… we pulled to the side of the road to where these men were selling fresh coconuts, bananas and some other fruits I’d never seen but can’t remember the name of… I ate some sugar cane for the 1st time… that was different. I didn’t know that you were supposed to bite it so I was like… ewwwwwwwww this is not good… then I ate it correctly and it was okay. The coconut was disgusting (to me). We got back in the van after a prolonged time and headed back off… our next stop was another viewpoint.. we took more pic’s and went to a washroom where they charged us a $1 to use the washroom… whatever… even in our poverty we don’t charge people to “go” here *rolls eyes* We get back in the car after taking a few pic’s and head to this waterfall where we were given a complimentary drink. The waterfall was pretty; we were rushed sorta through there by the tour guide. Then we headed to the drive in volcano. It smelled like sour boiled eggs we were gagging and the girls all stayed up top instead of going down to the rest of the walk… talking about the smell.. you can’t help but smell it… may as well see what causes the stench (the sulphur –sp???) There was another waterfall near the springs... that was the sulphur springs where the water is supposedly really warm… you’re supposed to be able to dip your feet in… I didn’t ... so I took pictures and we headed back to the van and headed to our pit stop where we were to have lunch. The Cocoa Plantation, they grow cocoa beans and process them. The beans are grown, picked, put in something (can’t remember) set out to dry (put in it again) and set to dry again. Then the beans are taken to the “dancing bowl” where the beans were put in and the worker gets in and dances in the beans and “something” and make the cocoa… I can’t remember all the story now (been too long) and 95% of their production goes straight to Hershey Company. The other 5% are made into pure cocoa bars, pure cocoa. It was rather cool. We had a tour of the “big house” and the surrounding property along with everything that they grow there and then we ate out on a restaurant patio thingy. The food was excellent and we had a good time. We had fresh squeezed grapefruit juice.. OMG it was SOOOO good! I normally don’t like grapefruit juice… Then we had for desert caramel covered banana that was cooked a little… it was tasty. We headed back to the tour van heading back to the ship. All the way we’d been grooving to the guides reggae CD… it was nice… He stopped along the way at a friends house for him to burn my cousin a copy. I asked him how far were we from the ship and he replied 5 minutes… we settled back … it was roughly 3:30… around 3:45 the CD is ready and we have about 15 minutes to get back on board… we’re driving, and driving, and driving and driving… we see no water… just mountains… no water.. no water… HELLO! Its 4pm… its 4:02.. its 4:05… we began to panic and we make up a song along the tune of the song playing saying things like “hold on” and “where’s the ship” cause he was moving out and we still hadn’t seen the ship… its 4:10. I begin to pray that for some mysterious reason God hold our ship… I think we all said a silent prayer… I began to just speak that the ship won’t leave, the ship won’t leave. So finally we start to see the ship however we aren’t near it and its 4:16 and we continue to just sit there… what else can you do? So we get onto the local street where we picked up the couple and the driver pulls over to let the couple out who’s ship doesn’t leave before 10:30pm! *** WHAT ARE YOU DOING???!!! We all scream and I think just know he gets it… he pulls off and takes a shortcut and gets to the part he can get us too and we say goodbye to the folks as we leap from the van… we’re running… I didn’t look back…. I figured somebody needed to get there… I was running (and here I thought I was working out to get rid of my pouch ) and as I’m running through the courtyard the locals are like, “slow down, you have plenty of time” I looked at them cross-eyed as I continued to run and as I turned the corner I saw them lifting the gates and rails I screamed “wait” and still hadn’t looked behind me… Chevy was right behind me… I don’t know the order after that. We got to the walk on thingy and I told them it was 2 more folks behind us (we were all there) and that one of them is older… the daughter was forty something and her mom was with her… the man replied, “if we see them we’ll wait, if not…” So we looked back and we saw the mom come running around the corner… where’s the daughter LOL! That was amusing! So we all got on the ship, none of us broke a sweat… GO WORKOUTS!!! We went to our room and fell across the beds… That was so emotional we couldn’t even speak about it, yet. All I kept thinking was Lord if we get left this black girl gone act a sho’nuff fool! They gone get me off this island!... So about 5-10 minutes later the ship was pulling off. I can’t remember too much more of that day simply because it was soooo emotional… we’d been scared so many times… once we were going around a curve up the mountain and the car in front of us was going too slow for our driver and so he just jumped out to pass him (did I mention we were on a curve!) and there was a car coming down and around directly at us… well the driver had gotten next to the other car so we couldn’t just get back over… I still don’t know what happened… all I could see was my life flashing before my eyes…. So we get dressed and head to the show that night and then to dinner. I think we went dancing that night… or too bed… I think we were too emotionally drained… the erratic driving and the almost getting left was more than we could deal with. OH! I almost forgot… the reason that we were leaving early was because the Pitons (the two mountains) that we toured to go see he wanted to drive very close too for us. So he was leaving early so that we could get there while it was still day light because by that time it was bright outside at around 4ish am. Anyway we went up on deck 11 to see the lovely view from the ship and then went back to the room… we met up with Nikki and Chevy who informed us that we were stopped (we didn’t even realize) because 2 people got left in St. Lucia and that a water taxi was bringing them out! Oy Vey!!! That coulda been US! Thank you Lord! So… needless to say we’ll NEVER EVER forget St. Lucia And as always … for your viewing pleasure...

I was driving home from school this evening and I thought back to that correlation the pastor used yesterday about the bowling and then the Lord encouraged me with this alternative light. Instead of the bowling ball being the enemy attacking us… we’re playing the game and the bowling ball is our weapon of warfare and the pins are the enemy. Each oppressing demon, each sickness, each heartache, each attack… everything that the enemy has planned each demon name by name… that’s what the pins represent. So we’re playing this game of bowling and as you walk toward the enemy, facing your troubles head on, running toward the fight and not against it… with your weapon in your hand. That ball, that weapon is your power… you’re prayer life, the sword of the spirit which is The Word of God, etc. That ball is power… the power of the Holy Spirit… When you throw that ball… it’s going to do what you send it out to do... when you throw the Word of God at the enemy… when you speak the Word of God into the atmosphere it must perform! When you take aim at your situation, your problem and you throw that ball and it’s rolling toward the enemy you may even miss all of the pins… everyone of them… gutter ball… but don’t give up because God has given you chance after chance and armor to protect you in this fight. You throw the ball again… gutter ball… you throw the ball again… Victory! 1 pin down…and even though you haven’t made a strike what’s taking place is you are learning how to use your weapons, you’re learning how to twirl that ball, you’re learning how to aim, you’re learning how to speak the Word, you continue to study, you continue to pray and your faith increases as you fight the good fight of faith and you throw another ball and next thing you know you have a spare… you’ve wiped the enemy out… he comes back as he always does and you throw another ball and it’s a strike… sometimes you strike, sometimes you miss but you never stop playing the game. You never lay down your weapon, you never give up the fight … next thing you know you’re striking often and you decide to join a league… because the max you can take out is 10 pins, 10 demons… but you join up with a prayer partner… and if 1 can put 10, 000 to flight… How many can 2 do… and so the game goes… Perfect saints, we need to perfect this fight. We need to know what our weapons are for they are not carnal but they are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds… (2 Corinthians 10:4) We can’t give up we have to fight the enemy, we have to know that we are victors, we have to know that we are not alone, that God is on our side and fighting our battles, that we aren’t the only men fighting this fight… that our prayers are putting ten’s of thousands of demons to flight… that we have all that we need to successfully defeat the enemy. Perfect your game saints… we can win, matter of fact we DO!

LOL! Actually, work has kinda helped me. The kids going back to school yesterday really helped, too. My family needs a routine like we need air! I think last night was the first "normal" night we've had in over a month!
