Starting the Dresden books while I wait for the next Flamel book to arrive
.

If you like Jim Butcher's "Dresden Files", you should check out the other book series he has written, the "Codex Alera". I think his second series is much better than the other, plus the language is much cleaner. The only swear word anyone uses seems to be "Crows!"

I've not read the Codex Alera yet, but I've read all the Dresden Files books except for the most recent one. I'm waiting on that to be available to me through the public library (I'm #40-something on the waitlist right now...).

As for what I'm reading at this time, it's The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch and Single Parenting That Works by Dr. Kevin Leman. I'm about halfway through Anathem by Neal Stephenson as well, but I took a break to catch up on the Dresden Files - I'll get back to it soon.

I'm currently reading Tortured for Christ by Richard Wurmbrand and Revolution in World Missions by K.P. Yohannan. Both are very interesting and thought provoking. Even though I don't necessarily agree with all parts of the books, they are challenging me greatly.

Started reading "Turn Coat", which is the latest novel in the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. I'll be done with it in a couple of days or less. I have come to have high expectations of Jim Butcher, and this new novel does not disappoint.

As any one of you who have read these books before knows, there have been a lot of people over the years who have gone to Harry Dresden seeking his help. You will not believe who has gotten desperate enough to go to him this time... And this time, his death is a foregone conclusion. Not like other times, when you figured he would find a way out. This time there is no way out. He is going to die.

I can't wait to see how he gets out of this one. At least I hope he does... I would hate to see the series end. The only reason I am not reading it now is because I am online telling you all about it.

Gotta go.

Am now going to start the book "Mean Streets", which just came out recently at my library. It is a collection of four independent novellas written by four different authors starring their own famous paranormal P.I.'s. The authors are Jim Butcher, Simon R. Green, Kat Richardson and Thomas E. Sniegoski.

I am already familiar with Jim Butcher, and his Dresden Files. I am hoping that maybe the other three might prove just as interesting. I am always looking for new authors in the genres that I like.

Tried to start Brisingr for the third time and just can't get into it. So I started David Balducci's "Simple Genius" instead.

The Ten Offenses by Pat Roberson. Been a huge eyeopener for me in the sense I am seriously grasping how our country has gotten to the state that it is in now. Makes me sad to realize how we must really be greiving His Holy Spirit.

With my devotions I am reading a book called: Faith That Breathes which has devotions in it plus mini devotions from different Christian female artists like Rebecca St.James, Jaci Velasquez, Joy Williams, Rachael Lampa, Stacie Orrico, Natalie LaRue, etc...

It's actually a pretty good book. I am really enjoying reading it.

Just started "Maelstrom", which is the third book in the Destroyermen series by Taylor Anderson. This is shaping up to be a very good series. A different take on the timeslip/alternate reality type of books.

End of the Spear by Steve Elliot. This is a very interesting book so far, (I'm on page 100). It wasn't what I thought it would be, but it is very good so far.

Order in the Courts by Paul Wilbur

After reading the intro and the first chapter, I wish I had picked up a half-dozen copies to give away.
