Just started the novel "Contagious" by author Scott Sigler.

Last year I read his first book Infected, and was blown away. I have read Peretti, Dekker, Koontz and King (among others). Sigler is the first author to actually cause me to cringe and my skin to crawl. This next one is off to a very auspicious start. The body count has already been matched in the first few chapters, and no one is safe, least of all anyone who would read this book.

Not for the faint of heart. No, not at all...

Books I've recently read:

My Sister's Keeper - Jodi Picoult
Nineteen Minutes - Jodi Picoult
As I Lay Dying - Ernest Gaines (I started it a while back and finally was able to finish it.)
Ellen Foster - Kaye Gibbons
Twilight - Stephenie Meyer ( I don't get the hype.)
The Upstairs Room - Johanna Reiss
The Oxford Murders - Guillermo Martinez (I finally finished it. )
Hide - Lisa Gardner

I'm currently reading :

Plainsong - Kent Haruf
Eats, Shoots and Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation - Lynne Truss

The irony of reading those two books at the same time is that Kent Haruf does not use quotation marks for dialogue.

I am reading, Dog On It by Spencer Quinn. It is a fun read. About a dog and a private eye team. It is written as if the dog is telling the story--sort in first dog.

I will finish reading The Shack tonight. ( I know there is much controversy, but I am one of those people that likes to make a decision for myself)

Then I will be reading RED by Ted Dekker. I read black a few weeks ago, but had to wait for the library to get me the next book in the series.

I'm about to start reading In Defense of Thomas Jefferson : The Sally Hemmings Sex Scandal. I believe the author is going to put forth evidence that Jeffereson is not the father of her children.

The Book Of Mormon. I'm not converting or anything, but I got it for a dollar and was always interested to see the exact lies and heresy in its pages.

Well my dollar helped the local library and not the Mormons. I bought it in the Friends of The Library bookstore. I will throw it away or burn it afterwards.

I'm now reading The Boat of Longing by O. E. Rolvaag (who also wrote Giants in the Earth).

Also reading a book on prayer by Harry Fosdick.

And just finished A Thousand Splendid Suns.

And, of course, God's word (which I never finish).

I just started Crazy Love by Francis Chan - loving it so far.

I'm also in the middle of The Message // Remix:Solo daily devotional by Eugene Peterson, which is sooo good so far. Highly recommend it so help further your prayer life.

And of coarse, I've always got myself in the middle of a Bible! Currently reading the book of Isaiah.

Just finished Sos the Rope by Piers Anthony, am now 6+ chapters into the follow-up, "Var the Stick".

Used to be really into Piers Anthony... but got rid of everything I owned by him. Got nostalgic all of a sudden and picked up a number of things at the local library book sale and at a used bookstore that is going out of business, so the already good prices are now 40% off. AKA, I picked up a LOT.

Now reading the book "Outcast" by Aaron Allston. It is the firstbook in a new Star Wars series. Luke has been arrested and charged with not only high treason, but dereliction of duty, leading to the deaths of thousands.

People on another forum have been recommending it so much that I gave in and started The Icewind Dale Trilogy against my better judgment. So I'm reading The Crystal Shard by RA Salvatore.

Going from Kay to Salvatore is a little like going from Hemingway to a Dick and Jane book.

I just finished The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs. It was okay. The end surprised me, but there were parts of the book that weren't very well-written. Almost like there were two different authors switching off. I doubt I'll read the sequel.

Also, I just started The Way of All Flesh by Samuel Butler and I'm going to start Pygmy (Chuck Palahniuk‎) soon, but I have to wait on two friends to buy it. We're going to read together.

Catch 22. It's one of my favorites.

My plan is to read East of Eden next, because Steinbeck is just the man.
