Just picked up "This Present Darkness" by.....ermm...I think it's Frank Perettii. I've only read one chapter, but it sounds like it's going to be good!

You're right. It is Frank Peretti, and it is good. I'm not one to re-read fiction books, but I've read this one twice.

I've got Dune on my Netflix. Not sure why... but have had trouble getting into the reading of the book.

Let's see.... on my currently reading list:
* Bride of Pendorric, by Victoria Holt
* Damia's Children, by Anne McCaffrey
* The Curse of the Pharaohs, Elizabeth Peters

"Fools Gold" by John MacArthur and others. Very good book on problems in the church today." I've got to read that! I love anything by John MacArthur. I'm currently reading through The John MacArthur Study Bible I'm in Ecclesiastes and Hebrews. Also reading "The unwavering Resolve of Jonathan Edwards" by Steve Lawson.

I'm reading The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. I haven't seen the movie yet (I ALWAYS read the book first or it messes up my imagination!). I appreciate the storyline, and I know it's fiction, but I have a hard time believing that a high-ranking SS officer's children would be so naive.

I've gotten stuck on Juveneille literature this week. Now I'm reading Gossamer by Lois Lowry. She was my favorite author growing up, so now I'm catching up on everything she's written since I've become a grown-up. Next I'll read Messenger and The Willoughbys

I didn't know there was a book. I saw the movie about a week ago. I may see if the library has the book.

I've been picking up and putting down books for the past week and nothing seemed to be right. Tonight I picked up one called "Safe at Home" by Richard Doster. It's the story of a young black man playing minor league baseball in the south in the early 50's, and the effect he had on the town. A Jackie Robinson type story. So far it's got me very interested.

Three Weeks To Say Good Bye by C.J.Box. I so want to finish it tonight but with about 150 pages left I won't. It is a cliffhanger!

I've just finished reading Number the Stars.

I read a lot of juvenile lit. I just finished Belle Prater's Boy and it's sequel, Finding Belle Prater by Ruth White. These are both really wonderful. You can just hear the voices inside your head when you read them. I highly recommend them.

I didn't know The Boy in the Striped Pajamas was a movie until last week.

I adored Lois Lowry growing up. In fact, one of my biggest regrets is not going to meet her when I had the chance when I was 13. She was speaking at the library in our city, and I was chosen by the librarians from all the teen library volunteers in the region to go and present Lois Lowry with a rose on the stage after her speech. The event, however, conflicted with a youth group trip . . . . I chose the youth group trip. What was I thinking????? (obviously, I was thinking like a 13-yr-old, not very clearly).

The librarians were very sweet to have a copy of The Giver personally autographed for me. (First edition, she had just won the Newberry). Man, I bang my head against the wall every time I see it sitting on the shelf, LOL.

I have yet to read that, but have heard wonderful things about it through the Perspectives course I've taken, and also through Wycliffe.
