So you don't breathe while speaking either?

You say that like it's a bad thing. Besides...it's TALENT. And I only do it when I want. Comes from years of speiling memorized scripts continuously at the theme parts. One script I can do in 2 1/2 minutes (and it's a 5 minute show!!).

Not a bad thing, an amazing thing. Most of the folk I've met here amaze me. (whereas I'm pretty certain I amuse them)

You're most certainly welcome. But aren't you supposed to be in bed? I thought we already did the lullaby thing? Or was that after this post? I'm so confused

And some of them are actually funny. (don't know how they slipped in but there's always one bad apple in the bunch)

Thanks Trish, Day went quite well. Made freezer jam with my daughter and had a nice relaxing day.

This is my 500th post. I guess I'm grown up now. Don't worry though I've still got a couple puns floating around I'm sure.

Had an interesting phone call last night.

A good friend of mine lost his wife about two years before Michele went home. Michele took her death pretty hard. This friend showed up at Michele's visitation and told me he was there for me whenever I needed to talk. I hadn't talked to him since until last night.

Isn't it amazing how God always supplies the answer when we are still trying to figure out the question? He always seems to have people praying for me just before I talk to them.

The arrival of another widower on the board showed me that I can help this guy because people helped me. While I didn't talk to my friend, knowing that he was available for me gave me the strength to go on and to heal. I can't express how valuable that one phrase of his "I'm here when you need me" is to me.

So I called him to thank him and we talked for about 1 1/2 hours last night. He is remarried and doing great, he's conquered the next steps in the process that I'm about to enter.

God is so good to us. My friend had the same prayer that I do. "Lord you have to bring the right woman to me as I haven't a clue how to find her." God brought him his right woman. Therefore God will do the same for me.

From time to time God has put the exact right people around me to give me hope. He is always on time and always right. Even when we mess up, He is still faithful to His promise to us. Thank God we didn't have to earn his favor as we will never be able to measure up to what He's already given us.

Is God great to us or what?

Amen, God is amazing. He knows our needs, and He knows the desires of our hearts.

God is so good to us.

I knew our Father was up to something! Thanks for the report.

I will put my hope in God!
I will praise him again--
my Savior and my God!

Now I am deeply discouraged,
but I will remember your kindness--
from Mount Hermon, the source of the Jordan,
from the land of Mount Mizar.
(Psalms 42:5-6)

He also promises us a door of hope in the valley of trouble (Hosae 2:15)

Have a blessed night!

This was such a beautiful thing. I got misty. You're right, he will I'm sure bring the right woman around.

I'm going to say something that may sound crazy, but perhaps will help you feel hopeful. The other day I went to the movies alone. I don't usually do this. Nor do I like going to restaurants alone. But I had such a good time, I cannot begin to describe it. I realized this was a huge milestone for me. Not that I've always had a boyfriend, in fact most of my life has been sans boyfriend or anything close. But this is the first time in my many-years-long-man-drought that I stepped outside, and I went to a movie, and I ate a pretzel dog and breathed the cool autumn air (for we had a momentary burst of autumn) and just really enjoyed myself. I think sometimes I've spent so much of my life waiting for "x" or "y" to happen that I forgot how to really enjoy just being. It was such a good feeling that I hope one day every blessed one of my friends can enjoy that. Even if it's just for a moment.

How does one make freezer jam? Do you have to harvest freezers at just the right time before cooking and jarring them? Does the metal get stuck between your teeth?

Or do you just make freezer jam, by accidentally putting something too large in the door so it doesn't close properly? *LOL*

Hi John_O! Yes, God's timing is surely amazing, especially when something happens when least expected. I am so glad that you have been a blessing to another and that you are being blessed by another. It is a demonstration of God's perfect love in and through us.

Sara, thank you for sharing your experience at the movie! (((((((Sara)))))))

I love people who can see the other side of a statement.

In order to make the best jam you do need to pick the freezers at just the perfect moment of freshness. Then you have to drain and clean them thoroughly. Nothing tastes worse than freezer burn tasting freezer jam.

It's also important to have the refrigerant properly collected and disposed of. If you leave it in the jam will not set right, too many air bubbles form.

At this point you have to mash the freezers finely, you can sieve the resulting mash to remove larger portions if you so desire. (I don't)

Add roughly 5/3rd as much sugar as freezer mash. Unfortunately freezers don't have much natural pectin so you have to add some. (I prefer Surejel) figure one box for each 2 cubic feet of freezer before mashing.

stir it all together and pour into one cup containers. and let set for 24 hours.

We only did a 4 cubic foot upright this time so I only have 75 one cup containers of jam. They make perfect gifts for people you don't really like.

(in reality we made raspberry jam from the berries of the bushes out back. Autumn loves picking berries. Had just enough berries to make 7 cups of jam which should last me until next harvest. (although those who come to the GT may put a dent in that. It's very good jam) Next year we should have ton's more. My bushes are going crazy with new growth. )

So glad you had fun at the movies. God is so good to us and gives us such wonderful blessings (like autumn air) that it's easy to overlook them. I mean, every day is chock full of miracles, the beauty of a sunrise, the patterns that spider webs make in the morning dew, the feel of the sun on you back or the breeze on your cheek, the freshness of the morning air. There's 5 of them and I haven't even made it off the back deck yet.

God is so good to us. We just have to get undistracted enough to see it sometimes.

Though I think I may pass on the freezer jam. I'm good w/ my mineral intake at the moment.

Yes the blame for my wacky sense of humor is twofold. 1) My crazy family. 2) Working toward becoming an English teacher.

Both contribute greatly to my general insanity. Enjoy.

The detail you put into the recipe, just about killed me. I'm still giggling.

ROFLOL! John_O you crack me up. Ever thought of getting into stand up comedy? I would come and pay to listen to ya. Then I can bring John and say, "John meet John." Hehehe. I love introducing two people who have the same name. Three? I have had my entertainment for the night.

I guess I'm not hard to please.

Just make sure you don't skimp on the ingredients, without exact measures the jam doesn't set up.

(Glad to be of service)

Thanks Trish. While I can be entertaining at times I really don't have enough material memorized to do stand up. I'm more conversationally driven, feeding off of audience reaction. I do karoake though. (I'm good but wouldn't recommend paying to see me)

I love meeting other people who were named after me. I've found that almost everyone named "John" is a great person.

What island are you on again? From time to very long time I get out that way on business.

Do you know the correct pronounciation of karaoke?

You know...My last (and only) blind date's name at the beginning of the year was John. Seemed very nice. My fiance is very nice as well and you are nice. I think you are right about the whole name thing. And Trish's friend John seems like a nice guy too. I think you are on to something. And the gospel of John has a very "soft", kindness nature to it.

I live on the island of Oahu, The Gathering Place....
