I can't wait to see your bathroom after all the renovations are finished.

Hi Ladies! -- well, hi AGAIN, Ginny!! Trish, Garrett was fine today -- like there was never anything wrong . . . we went to therapy this morning, but the school didn't want him back for a few days -- swine flu scare & all, so I took him shopping with me to Rolla. He did very well, tho he did get a bit testy in Lowes, until I let him out of the cart for a while . . . had him help me put back some drawer pulls that I decided not to buy . . . he was definitely ready to get loose and play by the time we left there, and was even complaining about the car ride, so I took the shortcut from Rolla -- a curvy, hilly roller-coaster of a road that was complete today with sound effects (courtesy of yours truly) . . . even that got old (for both he & I), so then I gave him a bottle of water -- drinking bottle, not baby bottle. THat was entertaining to him . . after he drank his fill, he had fun pouring the remaining all over him & his carseat . . . he thought that was quite fun! Thankfully, I got him home in time to change him clean thru before grandma & grandpa arrived to pick him up & take him home with them for the weekend. They were actually waiting for me to get back from Rolla & call them. I got the messages off my phone when I got home only to find this elderly gentleman called to remind me not to forget to pick up his trousers to be hemmed . . I'd forgotten him on Tuesday, and promised I'd picked them up today. So back to the car, and to town to pick them up. That took nearly an hour as the guy loves to talk -- and is really quite interesting. Then I went by the Senior Center to pick up our barbeque dinners I'd ordered for supper tonight. So glad I did that so I didn't have to worry about what to fix . . well, I wouldn't have, cuz I was simply too tired. I'm tired. I left here at 9:15 and didn't get home until 6:15, and the only time I stopped was for lunch -- where I met Ginny!! . . it was so good to see you, Ginny! -- not sure I even got a chance to tell you that, what with us trying to gobble down our meal, then chasing Garrett away from the door, me trying to find my debit card, etc. . . . anyway, it WAS .. and I hope you can still make it over tomorrow so we can have a nice relaxing lunch & visit.

I filled up two 'to go' boxes at the Sirloin Stockade with shrimp, shallots, catfish, hush puppies and a steak. The food is only $3.99 a lb so I got a lot of food for my $11. I've learned if I get the light weight stuff like seafood hubby and I can eat all the shrimp we want and also have leftovers for a lot cheaper price than actually eating at the restaurant. Since hubby doesn't like to go out to eat this works out great for us. I made two big baked potatoes at home too. Don't have lettuce or I would have made us a salad.

Ginny, that sounds like an excellent bargain . . . didn't even know they allowed that. I'm thinking about going to Shoney's for breakfast if Bill gets up in time. I'm so glad you found the card! . . will be by later today if that is ok. Yesterday I was so hot I was ready to turn on the air, and now this morning I'm cold! Of course, ti was up in the 80s yesterday and only 57 this morning, so that would explain it. We got a lot of high winds, rain, lightening and thunder last night, but managed not to lose electric. Bill was on the ladder cleaning out our gutters when it all started . . sheesh! I asked him to please get down and wait. He did. For a few minutes. When the wind calmed a bit, he got back up there then called me out to help. Well, the storm started coming in heavier so he was trying to hurry, and finally pitching the nasty yuk from teh gutters down nearly on top of me! I had to yell at him to be careful . . . then we both had to come in and hurry thru our showers before we lost electric -- I thought sure we would, but we didn't. I've been so busy with the house this week, and with playing & running with Garrett, that I've barely made it in here. The contractor came by Wednesday evening and we made a mutual decision to put off starting the bathroom until Monday -- neither of us were ready. He is behind because of all the bad weather. I'm behind cuz I'm so slow -- and because I hurt too bad to move any faster. Anyway, it was such a relief. Now Bill can go with me to Lowe's to pick up the remaining purchases, and I won't have to drive the truck -- I hate driving trucks. I'm waiting for him to get up so we can get started, but I'm not in any hurry, so am going to let him sleep as long as he wants. Garrett had a big time outside yesterday playing in the sunflower seed -- he's discovered that is quite fun, especially using the funnel, shovel & bucket I got him. I just set him in his little wading pool (dry, of course), put in a container of sunflower seeds, and let him have a hey-day . . I put it under the bird feeder, so he can spill as much as he wants and they will find it and clean it up. The chickens came over to eat, tho, and he decided he had to get out and go chase them for a while -- he is so funny doing that! Then he helped me (un)plant flowers for a while. I had put some new plants in pots, and asked him to bring me the wagon, which he did, tho it's all he can do to pull it -- he thinks he's quite big doing that . . . I put the two big pots in the wagon, then set him behind them, and wheeled them all to the front yard to place the pots around the arbor area . . but when I got around there, I discovered he'd pulled up my freshly potted plant!!! Garrett, Garrett, Garrett! He had dirt all over him, of course -- mixed in with the sunflower seeds and the water he'd been splashing in earlier Afterwards, we went to town to do some grocery shopping and deliver the pants to the elderly gentleman I talked about last week. He, of course, was quite taken by Garrett, and gave him money for some ice cream. So we went to Sonic, and I got him a junior M&M sundae . . he was so excited he was nearly bouncing off his chair! We decided to eat at their outside tables cuz it was so nice out -- but windy! Nearly blew our stuff away. Then I took him grocery shopping. He thinks it's pretty smart to wrestle with me when he's in the cart, and I couldn't keep him sitting, so finally had to fasten him in!. But he thinks he needs to 'help' me now, so when we got to the checkout I unfastened him so he could help put the stuff on the counter. He can actually pick up some pretty big cans and set them up there when he's in this kiddie car cart. He thinks he's so big doing that . . . . needless to say, we both needed a nap when we got back

Sounds like you've been having an awesome time with Garrett, Linda. Bailey is John's "shadow" when he's out trying to work in the garden. John will put plants into the ground, and Bailey will help by digging them all back out again. Needless to say, John isn't very impressed by that side of things. Bailey on the other hand (or paw, depending on which side you're looking at it from), just loves the company. You don't necessarily have to do anything with him, (but all attention is gratefully received), but he just loves having somebody out with him.
