Greetings! My name is Isa and I am the proud mother of Aidan my wonderful 8 y.o. son. I have been a single parent, self-employed, homeschooling mom since he was conceived. (I used say that discipline begins in the womb). Don't know where I went wrong!

I follow no set curriculum although I have found the grocery store to be the absolute best math "workbook" available and it's free. It was so easy to discuss addition, subtraction, division, weights & measures, AND practice handwriting when filling bags in the bulk section.

I look forward to networking with other homeschooling single parents especially.

Hi everyone. My name is Mikki. This is our first year to homeschool. My 16 y/o asked about it last spring and after much prayer and research we are homeschooling and loving it. I also school a 10 y/o. They are in 10th and 5th grades. Looking forward to more ideas.

Living in a homeschool wonderful state,
Mikki

Hello, I'm homeschooling two boys ages 6 and 5. I was homeschooled from K-12 and always wanted to do the same with my own children.

Hi, my name is Leslie Bennet. My husband's name is Bruce. We are currently homeschooling our two youngest daughters ages 15 and 13. We have been homeschooling for many years. We love what we do and found that it has added a bond to our family.

Hey everyone!

This seems like a great network for homeschooling families. We will be first timers this August. DD is 11 and DS is 7. We're excited and somewhat nervous in a way.

I hope to have some new friends here to get inputs from. Thanks everyone!

Oooh I thought I already replied to this but see that I didn't. I signed up at this forum about a year ago and then never got started. Better late than never!

My name is Holly and I'm currently homeschooling my 4 kids: second grade, kindergarten and toddler. This will be our 3rd year of homeschooling. It's a busy life, but goodness, are we having fun! We'll officially start our new school year on Monday...we're trying a new schedule this year. Glad to meet all of you...have a blessed summer!

I am a homeschooler, though I've been on-again, off-again due to changes in our family. I have a 12 year old, 11 year old, 5 year old, and twins who are almost 1. I homeschooled the 12-year-old for sixth grade, the 11-year-old for third and fourth grades, and I'm just starting my 5 year old for kindergarten this year. I put my kids in public school for the first time last year (they had been in private school prior to homeschooling), since I had just had the babies, and now am dealing with one very unhappy child -- the 12-year-old -- who does not want to be homeschooled ever again! She loved the public school atmosphere. She's going into 8th grade this year.

Hello! My name is Abby and my husband and I are beginning our 13th year of homeschooling. Our oldest just graduated--WOW!-- and has started college in another state. Our others are in 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade. Looking back, hs hasn't always been easy or fun, but it's been an amazing, growing experience that I wouldn't change for other schooling options.

I am homeschooling my 8th grader and 1st grader this year. We have been homeschooling now for 3 years. Our family has been using the
Alpha Omega (AOP) Lifepac curriculum. My children really enjoy the format for this curriculum.
I look forward to reading the posts in the home school forum. The forum is a great tool for homeschooling families!

Blessings! Kelly
