I have been quit for 1 Week, 6 Days, 10 hours, 46 minutes and 11 seconds or 13 days. I have not smoked 134 cigarettes. I have saved $28.30. I have saved 22 hours and 20 minutes of my life. I quit smoking on 4/30/2008 12:00 AM.

WTG Jordan!

It's amazing when you total up and see the number of cigarettes smoked in 2 weeks, a month, a year... It's amazing smokers last 20 and 30 years.

Thanks Jimbo! Also it is very crazy! By the 3rd week, I'd have saved myself 200 cigarettes!

Right on Jordan, you're doing great! This is my 5th day. Together me and hubby have saved $21 and avoided 134 cigarettes.

Great job! Is that both of you just together, or just you?

That's with both of us. We have saved $10.50 just me not smoking. Our packs were 3.20, and I smoked 15 a day.

Day 624 nicotine-FREE, $2,184.00 saved on tobacco.

Just in case you're unfamiliar, people who've never dreamed about smoking are likely to do so after they have begun their journey back to freedom. It's often referred to as a "Cave Dream" and is sometimes so vivid that you awake certain that you have, indeed, caved in. Those dreams my come weeks or months after you've given up tobacco.

While scary and sobering, cave dreams at the least remind us of how horrible it would be to us if we allowed ourself to become hooked again. I've had three cave dreams, the first around 100 days and the second around a year, but they can come at any time. If you have one, don't panic, just offer a prayer of gratitude that it's only a nightmare and appreciate your reaction in and after the dream.

I actually had several of those in the first few months. I would wake up thinking, "Darn, now I have to start all over!" Haven't had one in a long while, though.

My dad was just talking about that. He's been without smokes for 9 years, and he said he just had a dream like that the other night. He's been sober for 10 yars and still has drinking dreams sometimes.

I think I may have had one the other night, but it was a full on dream about, it was just me outside lighting a cigarette, but that was basically all that had happened then I started dreaming about something else.

I have been quit for 2 Weeks, 1 Day, 11 hours, 31 minutes and 47 seconds or 15 days. I have not smoked 154 cigarettes. I have saved $32.58. I have saved 1 Day, 1 hour and 40 minutes of my life. I quit smoking on 4/30/2008 12:00 AM.

I've been getting some wacky vivid dreams from the patch, but not a smoking dream yet. How much were your cigarettes, Jordan...that seems expensive. I paid 9.60 for a three pack special, no sales tax in Oregon. How are you feeling? Can you breathe better yet?

I'm feeling a lot better, bad cravings today though, well for a certain reason. My packs ran around $4.21 per pack, and that was a cheaper price for me.

I went to my Grandma's tonight, and it was tough, because she's a smoker, but I dealt with it, and I was fine.

I really need some tips on how to do this. I live with three smokers and even though everyone smokes outside, it's hard not to give into temptation.

My hubby stopped wearing the patch and is smoking 3 cigarettes a day. It has been hard for me to not want to go out there with him. Roberta, check out http://BecomeAnEx.org . I really like their program. Any chance you can talk the other smokers into quitting with you?

I've tried that and got laughed at.

Thanks for the link.

I really learned who my "friends" weren't when I quit the first time years ago. After learning I'd quit, they'd offer me cigarettes, made jokes, and even blew smoke into my face. It had the opposite effect and just made me more determined.

Me, too. And I think when someone quits, it usually makes those who continue to smoke feel guilty.

That's very possible.

I know my biggest downfall is when the kids are playing quietly and the grown-ups are outside laughing and talking while having a smoke. I start off going out there for the conversation and wind up lighting up out of habit.
At first I didn't realize I was doing it until I'd put the cigarette out. Now I'm realizing it shortly after lighting up and then I put it out immediately.

Keep a straw with you...or some of those yummy cinnamon toothpicks...and then you can chew on that instead of smoking.
