1. Post one letter.
2. When a word is formed, the person who finished it will type out the word in the traditional way (horizontally!), and then begin the next vertical word.
3. The person beginning a new word specifies the exact number of letters the following word should be. The person giving a number and the first letter must have a real word in mind; this does not mean, of course, that the following players will create the word the first person had in mind, but simply that a real word of that many letters can indeed be spelled with the given starting letter.
4. The point isn't to make extremely long words (although that might be fun on rare occasions); standard-length words are generally best.
5. IMPORTANT! Each poster should only type a letter if he knows for sure that his contribution can be part of making a word of the specified length!
