I had a very interesting and somewhat embarassing experience yesterday. I would lack to say that my lack of sleep the nigh before my have contributed to the situation. Because I knew he whole time that I should have kept my moth shut. But I did not and I regreted it in the end.

Yesterday I had a doctors appointment so I went in with my mother because it is eaiser to take the bus from where she works than where I live. So I arrive at the bus stop I need to and there is this kooky homeless woman sitting there who is quoting the Bible. And there was something about the way she was doing it that made me cringe.

She then tells my that my backpack is too big for my small frame. I then tell her in a angry tone that I have school and I need to carry my books around.

Another the woman at the bus stop is trying to get me too stop. I see and hear her but I still go on.

Again she say my backpack is to big for my frame. Even louder I then tell her that I need to take the bus to get around. The woman the tells me that my parents should be taking me where I need to go.

Again the woman is trying to get me to stop.

I don't say anything because I know why I have to take the bus and I feel that I do not need to explain it to her. The woman then says that "That is what you get when you talk to a Negro.

Now I am not Black but I have been mistaken for one before. And I don't mind it at all.

I then tell the woman that I am not a Negro but I am Filipino. She rolls her eyes so I know that she does not believe me. This makes me more angry. I then get up from where I am sitting, walk over to her and tell her again that I am not a Negro but Filipino and that I don't mind being mistaken for a Black person but I am not one..

The woman ten tell me to "Go to...." A place that is not Heaven.

I then she should not be telling me to "Go to..." Especialy after she was quoting the Bible. I go on and ask her is she goes to church on Sundays. Because I do.

It is then the bus comes. And as I get on the bus the home less woman repeats "that you always get drama when you talk to A Negro.

And the woman who had been trying to get me to stop tells me that I should have ignored her. Now I know this. I then say to the woman that had been trying to get me to stop that I hate it when people misuse the Bible.

As I sit down I know that what I did was wrong and I feel guilty and embarassed. And I ask for God's forgiveness.

I really don't know what came over me. I knew that I should have ignored the homeless woman. And I have done it before. But something came over me yesterday I could not stop.

Bummer Sara, it happens to the best of us sometimes. You just pray and hope that you handle a situation like that better the next time instead.

My pastor talked a little bit about the Phillipines today, I never realized there was such poverty there, that is in the major city of Manilla!

It has a lot of rich, but a lot of poverty as well! I think that in the U.S. that we do not know what true poverty is! Not that people struggle here, but its just different. We do not see kids (at least visibly) starving to death, with dirty clothes, living at a dump, etc.

So there is this woman in my ED 215 Healthy Young Children class who really gets on my nerves. I don't know why...She is probably a very nice person. but whatever she say has me wanting to roll my eyes. There is just something about her that irks me.
