Have seen some posts about being at the Mull sing. But still no plans to meet and eat at Tony's.

My family will be there for the Mull sing, I had asked if anyone was meeting Saturday but no one said anything. I have to check with my group to see what they want to do but usually if I plan something they are ok with it.

Dee, I don't make the plans, just try to co-ordinate the timing as much as possible.

Will this be at Tony's resturant or somewhere else?

I guess everyone is on their own for eating tomorrow before whatever concert they will be attending. We plan on stopping by Tony's BBQ some time Sat. afternoon but it may be as early as 3 pm. Usually some of the artists go there to eat before sound check. I think that would put them there before 3pm.

Just made our reservations to join Tony Gore and The Galloways for A Smoky Mountain Christmas in PF on Dec. 12. They have been doing this for several years and we haven't been able to make it, but we're going this year. Other dates are Nov. 28 and Dec. 5. They feed you dinner (Tony cooks it) and do a concert following. Should be great, hope some of you will join us. A good opportunity to see Christmas lights also.

That will be at our Hidden Mountain Clubhouse. Discounts for rental cabins are available if you call Hidden Mountain, talk with Kay Green and mention "Smoky Mountain Christmas". Will be a wonderful time for all. Wish we could be there.

Yes they do. ALL of Gold City ate there Saturday and we left FULL at about 2:15 PM. I had the Baby Backs, Fried Green Tomatoes, Tomato Casserole, and slaw. Yes I do like 'Maters. I did have to take half of the Rack on the bus with me though. I ate them later that night when the guys stopped for a quick bite after the concerts. Good Eats.

Sorry we missed y'all at Tony's. Got there a little before 3 pm.

We did stop back by New Hope church and saw the 2nd part of the program after intermission. Sorry, but did not think to ask about you. I talked to Steve and Daniel. Were you in the church or napping on the bus?

From Tony Gore's newsletter:

A Smoky Mountain Christmas!
November 28, December 5 and December 12 2008

Smoky Mountain Christmas time is here! As most of you know The
Galloways and I were robbed last year when someone stole the trailer
that The Galloways had that was housing all of our Smoky Mountain
Christmas stuff….like china, silverware, decorations, etc…so we were
talking after last year that we might just end it on a high note…and
call it quits. We had a great time doing the event but it is a LOT of
work and takes a lot of time to put together. Well….people heard we
were talking about stopping and would not hear of it…they LOVE it and
want to see it continue. SO…after many late night phone conversations
The Galloways and I have decided to once again present A Smoky
Mountain Christmas!
The event will be held this year at the beautiful
Hidden Mountain Resort Clubhouse….This is the original site that we
had the very first year in…so we return to our roots! Hidden Mountain
has recently renovated their clubhouse and it is BEAUTIFUL and has a
complete commercial kitchen and a breathtaking dining room! They are
a cabin resort and will offer special deals to folks who would like
to stay in a cabin during your Smoky Mountain Christmas stay. The
dates for this years event will be November 28, December 5 and
December 12….as many of you know in the past we have had about 9-10
nights…this year we are only doing 3 nights!!!! So you need to make
your reservations quick before we are full! Smoky Mountain
Christmas '08
will be $55 per person….reservations required…call The
Galloways at 615-776-3890 today for your reservation.
Smoky Mountain Christmas is a Full Dinner, Games and Concert…it is a
great Christmas event to bring your family, friends, Sunday School
Class, your Pastor and his wife! CALL TODAY!

Just got back from Tony's. He now uses real dishes and glasses and flatware. No more paper towels or paper napkins or plastic forks. He wasn't there, so I couldn't ask what got into him?!

He told me he was switching to the real plates the last time we were there. Forgot to mention that. Thanks Frog.
Sometime in the future there will be an ice cream parlor at Tony's BBQ. Can't wait til that happens.

Tony's already has the best soft-serve ice cream I have ever had. He has vanilla, chocolate, and combo. I'm not supposed to have it, but I get a spoonful once in a while.

I did not know that. He has kept that from me. Shame on him. But the ice cream parlor will be on the North end of the building so customers can walk up to window and order and not come inside restaurant.

I think eventually he will add on. He has just finished enlarging the kitchen. That helped a lot.

From Kirk Talley's newsletter:

I just want to give you a quick update about Saturday night. The concert will be outside in a covered pavilion at Ripplin' Waters Campgroud (At Exit 407 off I-40 take Hwy. 66 toward Sevierville. Go approximately 4.5 miles - the campground is on the right just a little before Tony Gore's Restaurant.)

We will probably start about 6:00 or 6:30 PM. There are no seats in the pavilion so be SURE to bring lawn chairs. Testimony from Chattanooga will be joining Tony and me for the concert. They are a great quartet and you will love them! This is a free concert and a love offering will be taken. So come on out and enjoy a late summer evening and some great gospel music.

See you there!

Kirk

Yes! As I told you last summer, that was the only thing lacking in making it a really super-duper fine restaurant. I hope we get to return there for some more of his wonderful ribs sometime. My Dad's situation caused us to cancel our plans to go back this past July.
