Hey Pam welcome back........you were missed.

How was the trip?

Thanks for the welcome!

Okay. I copied this from the chat thread. I really had a totally awesome time! I still can't believe it! I think I like this vacation concept! The one thing I forgot in what I wrote below was on the Friday we went to the Key West sunset celebration. It was so beautiful!

I wrote up a little synopsis of my adventure last week (below). By the way, it was my sister, my niece, and me, and we visited my brother and his wife who live in Sugarloaf Key, which is at the 17 mile marker (which I guess would be about 13 miles outside of Key West).

Day 1: Since my sister is getting married at the Hemingway Home later this year, we drove down from Sugarloaf Key (which is at the 17 mile marker) to Key West, had breakfast at the restaurant where she’s having her reception, finalized arrangements there, then walked down to Hemingway Home, saw the wedding courtyard and arch, and finalized those plans. Oh, that is so beautiful! They have a webcam there too! Well, it was just lovely, that’s all!

Day 2: Back down into Key West, first to the Butterfly Conservatory, which, if you haven’t been there, is full of butterflies and birds, it’s just incredible. After that, I believe we did more walking around, touring, and shopping. And enjoying the weather, because it was absolutely perfect down there! Spent some time at Mallory Square; there was one cruise ship in. Did I mention the weather was absolutely perfect? Actually, it was the whole week. Also walked down Duval Street, stopped in and had a drink at Margaritaville.

Day 3: Went to the beach at Bahia Honda (State Park). It was really beautiful, but my brother was upset because there was a lot of seaweed (about ten feet) between the water and the beach. He thinks they should have cleaned that up. Anyway, it was another really great and beautiful day. God’s handiwork everywhere!

Day 4: They took us out on their boat! Their house is on a canal, with access to the sound (I think I’m using the correct terms), then they go through another winding canal, then out to the open Atlantic. Brother opened her up a couple times, boy was that fantastic. Then he anchored at what was their “hang-out” spot. Just imagine – this is what they do regularly, their way of life!

ETA: Oh, yeah, this makes me smile BIG TIME!

What kind of boat does he have Pam? You said open her up so I am thinking a sail boat. Right?

I'm not really sure what kind it is, but it's small, and it has a motor. When I said "open her up", I meant speed-wise. I have a picture of it at home. I'll see if I can make it into an avatar and post it, 'kay?

Yes........I would love to see pictures of your trip.

I have only been to the keys once, many years ago, for marine biological class.

It was a great adventure.

I have oodles of pictures. 148 to be exact. Many of which are duplicates of course. The beauty of digital.

I don't have a photo sharing site though. And I don't know anything about them. Like which are free or anything like that, or how easy they are.

Hey, if anyone here knows anything, I'd certainly be glad for some info.

I use photobucket.com for mine. I have hundreds of pictures on it. Most recently the 500 plus pictures of the cruise.

Wow, that's a lot, Tink! Has it cost you anything?

May I borrow your friends Terri?

Feeling beautiful almost always makes me smile.

You may borrow them. I must admit that they are boys who are still in high school. However they know how to put a smile on a girls face (even if they are full of it!)

Hey, everyone! Been a very busy day and today I get to do one of my [heavy sarcasm] very favorite activities [/sarcasm]

Pam, I use webshots.com. I like it because you can download the pictures to use as your screensaver.

Nope. The only thing I paid for was an upgrade on what I can do with them. *shrug* Other than that, everything is free. I make avatars, siggys, stuff like that. The only drawback is I can't get to Photobucket from work. So everything I do I have to do from home, which stinks because I'm on my computer longer at work than I am at home.

HOWEVER, I do smile whenever I see some old avatars or siggys on there! *see how I neatly brought the topic back to discussion?*

Interesting. I did get to photobucket here at work, but I tried flickr earlier, and our server wouldn't let me through to there. Also, just to see, I clicked on "join" on photobucket's site, and it said it allows 10,000 photos for free. It's starting to look like that's going to be the winner!

Did it take you long to upload all your cruise pictures? (500 is a lot!)

It did only because I took the long way to do it. *grin* There's a way you can upload the pictures much faster than how I did it. But since I started it that way, I have to finish it that way. *shrug* It's okay because it gives me a chance to look at them as I go.

Ummm...the last time he did this he used water colours. It was trees during dusk.

I don't know what he did this year.

Mind you he's in 2nd grade so his styles aren't all that sophisticated yet.

Wow....lots of smiles in here today!

I'm smiling because all the ice is gone off the lake and it's been such a beautiful deep blue color the last couple days. I love the feeling when you can finally feel that winter is coming to an end. I love Spring!

Hi Veronica!

A quick smile this afternoon. When I went to pick up the munchkin after school, one of the dads who is usually in a suit to pick up his daughter had gone home, changed his clothes and rode a bicycle to the school to pick her up ... and holding onto the handlebar of her empty bike, just so they could ride together when he signed her out. What a cool dad!

Stay away from Flickr, I moved my photo's to there from Yahoo, and unexpectedly they are now telling me that not only will it now cost me $24.95 for a year, but that they will not let you only see the last 200 photos that were uploaded as well.
