Just thought I'd drop in and say "Howdy"! I was born in Wichita Falls (Sheppard AFB to be exact) and then, at the age of 4, got "misplaced" in OK for 18 yrs. Dad was transferred there, due to USAF. But, luckily right after graduation, we moved back down. I now live in between Longview & Hallsville. Love it, but could do without the heat and humidity.

Husband was born in upstate New York, and mostly lived around Montana, Wyoming, etc. He hates the heat here. When we were dating, I had trouble understanding his relatives from NY, and they had trouble understanding me.

As for sports, all I can say is "How 'bout dem boys!!" and "Hook 'em Horns!"

Thanks for letting me share & may God reign His blessings down upon each of you!!

Shalom, Y'all
I am from Northeast Texas...well, by the long way around...I was born in Springfield Mo...Dad was in the Air Force...so several bases in my youth, until he retired in So. Calif...that is where I was schooled, married, gave birth to two daughters, SAVED in '73, was pg when we moved to NETexas, my son was born in Texas.
He is a CWO in the Marine reserves, and works at Texas AM..
The two daughters live near Dallas, Frisco and Rockwall...

I am currently on an extended vacation, here in Northern Calif...loving it, in the mountains...so needless to say the weather is a bit more comfortable than it is in Texas at this time of year...should be returning home the end of this month...so maybe the heat and humidity will be gone by then...

Great preachers in Texas...and lots of great conferences to attend in Dallas Ft Worth!

Sure miss Zola Levitt, but his wife and Jeffery are doing a great job..carrying on his minstry..which was a very special one.
Learned so much from him over the years!

nice posts from you all!

Stay away a couple of weeks, offline for one, and newcomers show up. I should do it more often.

Howdy Hineni! I do know where Sulphur Springs is! I used to live in Mineola and would sometimes go to SS.

My husband & his family lived in White Oak, and we have had Jews for Jesus at our church in Hallsville. Great organization!

transplant here. Although I would estimate I have lived in Texas for about 20-25 years total Right now I'm In Austin and this will be my final stop. I have been in Austin for a little over a year now. I have lived in various Texas towns off and on since 1958. I originally am from Connecticut. But for some odd reason every time I leave Texas I seem to return. Various reasons.

some of the places I have lived in Texas. This is probably not all:

Harlingen
Brownsville
Weslaco
McAllen
Mission
Louise
Edna
Telferner
Victoria
Oak Wood
Tennessee Colony
Palestine
Tyler
Waskom
Austin
Waco

For a while I worked for the state and My job office frequently changed although my unit headquarters was in Edinburgh. I was usually in each location for 3 to 6 Months. I also worked for a private company a number of years and that was when I lived in Waskom and Tyler. I notice there is a member here from Hallsville, I worked with quite a few people from Hallsville and Marshall while I lived in Waskom.

From the high plains of the Lone Star State....HOWDY!!!
I guess I as close to a native Texan as they come without actually being born here.

I'm from Memphis Tenn. However I've heard Tennessee referred to as "The Mother of Texas"...the whole Davy Crockett Alamo connection.

I do have a great + ? grand dad that was a Texas Ranger and fought for Texas independence.

Anyway, I'm an Army brat and lived a good part of my life here and there and on occasion Texas.

More recently my wife and I moved from Grand Prairie to the panhandle town of Happy.....population 647.....SAAAAAAALUUUTE!
It's a far cry from the bustling lifestyle of the DFW area and we love it!

So hello fellow Texans!

My condolences...

Did you hear about the Aggie at the stop sign?
Well, he's still there.

How do you get a Texas A & M graduate off your front porch?
You pay for your pizza!

What happened to the Aggie hockey team?
They drowned in spring training.

How do you make a one-armed Aggie fall out of a tree?
Wave.

Why does the new Aggie navy have glass bottomed boats?
So they can see the old Aggie navy.

Why do Aggies always smile during lightning storms?
They think their picture is being taken.

A 2-seater plane crashed into a cemetery near College Station.
The Aggie fire department uncovered 700 bodies.

And lastly...

How many Aggies does it take to eat an armadillo?
Three. One to do the eating, and two to watch for cars.

Hey now! My cuz goes to A&M and when she applied to different colleges her senior year not only did she get accepted to A&M but she got accepted to go to Baylor as well. AND don't make a stupid Aggie remark/joke about her because she chose A&M over Baylor! She's really smart and I know it was a really hard choice for her.

Well, I can see why folks would choose A&M over other schools, after all their science department is one of the very best!

Here's an example of one of their highly technical experiments...
What do you get when you line up several Aggies ear to ear and blow?
A wind tunnel.
